So uh, why is Chipper in the lineup again? Give the man a day off and let his quad heal up completely, he isn't that necessary to have in the lineup today.

Watching Baseball Tonight and Wade Boggs should do more TV work (maybe he does and I miss it). If ESPN wants former players on BBTN, they should use players like Wade Boggs that at least have all the knowledge (I'm looking at you Eric Young) to not sound like a fool.

I like Wade also, Orel Hershiser (sp) is not bad to listen to IMHO. If I am not mistaken he used to call some games for espn. He is very knowledgeable and explains alot of things. On the other hand, Joe Morgan has to be the worst announcer EVER. The Nationals announcer on XM the other night was pretty bad but not in the same league as Joe.
McCarroll21
04-13-2008, 02:06 PM
"Can you hear me Katy? It's Jerome. You've got one hair out of place."
The Nationals announcer on XM the other night was pretty bad but not in the same league as Joe.
So Boof, if Joe saw your post, he would think about it, analyze it, synthesize it, and announce on ESPN, "I'd just like to take a moment to thank my friends at B-N for their kind words. According to them, 'Joe Morgan' - that's me - 'is in a league of his own!'"

I think McGriff does a postgame show for the Rays as well.
LOL! Nice MPH! Didn't Morgan play for the Big Red Machine? Or something...
Yeah, something like that - Milo Hamilton once called him 'the most exciting young player in baseball."

04-13-2008, 02:23 PM
I wonder if Ron Gant ever just beats the piss out of Jurenobitch?
If not... he should. If for no other reason, this:
WORST SPORTS MOMENT: 1992 NLCS. It was bad enough to be living in the worst sports city in America but watching the slowest man in baseball, a former Pirate by the way, score from 2nd base and rally the Braves from down 2 in the bottom of the 9th and deny Pittsburgh a chance at playing in the World Series for a third year in a row was crushing! I still haven’t forgiven Barry Bonds. The fact that he has a noodle for a throwing arm proves he will never be the player his Godfather, Willie Mays was.

Why not just put Utley there? That makes absolutely no sense. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think Jenkins is a high OBP guy. Put Utley at the top, Bruntlett second, Jenkins third, Howard in the cleanup hole, Feliz fifth and just go from there.

Well, that's what happens when you gamble on three starters who are over the age of 36, two of which who are in their forties... I don't won't to sound like the eternal pessimist that I an here, but that is just the bottomline. I'm not watching the game and therefore don't have any clue how bad this is, but any kind of injury to a pitcher who is 42 and consistently thrown over 200 innings for almost twenty reasons is NEVER a good thing.

The thing to worry about with all these "cold weather" injuries is first, how fatigue is going to bother them in the dog days of August and September, and second, how often these little things are gonna pop up if or when the Braves make it to October.

Assuming he misses a couple starts, if you had to choose between Chuck, Morton, Reyes, or Bennett who gets the starts in Glavine's place?Well, since I don't think we're gonna see Hampton until at least the beginning of June at the earliest, and since this will likely sideline Tommy until around the same time, its gonna have to be two of the four. My money would be on Bennett and James. And if either struggles, or continues to as seems to be the case with both, Reyes will be next in line.
