As you all know the Mets are opening up Citi Field in 2009 and since everyone outside of Flushing (except Chipper Jones) wants Shea Stadium demolished. So here are a few pics:
Here is the artist rendering:

And the actual pics:

I can throw a brick from my house into citi.
Citi looks about half the size of Shea when you drive or walk by it.

That's probably because they build the new stadiums with the field a bit underground to help keep the sound from distracting surrounding neighborhoods.

The baseball field is the least of the distracting noises around the area. The airport pretty much takes the cake for it, the stadium is just actually significantly smaller than Shea.
55,000 for Shea
45,000 for Citi
You also have to take into account that there is nearly no seating in fair territory at Shea. There's the bleachers in left but that doesn't fit very many seats. Shea is a crecent shape in terms of seating and Citi isa full circle, and the seating is still 10,000 less. This shows how much smaller Citi actually is than Shea.
I'm very excited for the field as well, nothing gets me more aggrivated when I go to a game at Shea and my seat is pointed towards CF instead of home plate...

The artist rendering reminds me of Yankee stadium (on the outside) for some odd reason....

here is a outstanding view of Citi in the background of Shea. Even the light standards indicate how much of a dump Shea is.http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2250/2384778112_75da67cd66_b.jpg

I like Great American. Shea definitely isn't a good stadium, but the atmosphere at a game is really cool. As much as I hate getting ragged on when wearing a Braves jersey, their fans get really into it.

Ditto.
I'm not near as close as you, but see a couple of games every year (I'm in Suffolk County)
