I'm in a 10-team, NL-only, auction keeper league, in which you start with $260 minus keepers. We've had keepers the past 3 years.
I could keep Mark Teixeira at 45 bucks this season. That may sound like a lot, but with salaries inflated due to keepers (Martin, Fielder, Howard, Francoeur, Hanley, and Tulowitzki are all 2 bucks), it may not be all that crazy.
For example, Jose Reyes (52), Carlos Beltran (50), Andruw (49) Aramis Ramirez (48), David Wright (45), and Roy Oswalt (39) all went way above their predicted values by large amounts.
Should I keep Teixeira at $45, or try to get him cheaper via the auction? It's a big risk, as corner infielders are VERY inflated when draft day comes around. Pujols was kept at 63 last season.
