We are going to have what I have determined to be FOUR fantasy baseball leagues, not including the BN vs. NLS league.
We are going to have:
12 team H2H Keeper League
10-14 team Re-Draft Rotisserie League
10-14 team Re-Draft H2H League
Rotohog.com league which will be open for everyone to join and experiment withAll leagues will be hosted on Yahoo! and will use their live draft system. While it would be preferred for everyone to be at the live draft, don't let that keep you from signing up. Everyone here understands you can't plan what will happen in a month and a half.
The keeper league will be limited to 12 teams and will have a pretty deep roster and 6 or 7 scoring categories for both offense and pitching. This league will be more select with who gets in than the others. It will not be a first come, first serve. It will be a sign up if you're interested and the staff members will decide on the best 12 to be in the league. I want this to be a competitive league and one that we won't have to worry about replacing multiple owners at the conclusion of each season. We're not going to get into an auction format just yet ... maybe sometime we may go there, but not yet.
Right now, I'm saying that if people are in the keeper, they can also participate in one of the others, but not to the point that the same people fill up every league and knock others out of a spot. I think I will say that if you're in the keeper league, wait until everyone else who wants to play has a chance to sign up in the re-draft league of their choice. After it slows down, we'll pull from the keeper league to fill the open spots.
I would prefer for each league to have 12 members, but the only one that I'm going to push for that to be a definite is the keeper league. The others would be acceptable to have 10-14, but if it gets to 16 we'll probably find a way to split it up into two leagues though I would prefer to keep the Yahoo! leagues limited to the three listed.
If you use this thread to try to sign up for a league, you're wasting your time. I'm going to gather some details and post a thread for the keeper league and a thread for the re-draft leagues within the next few days. Right now, I want you to be thinking about where you may fall. If you're the serious fantasy player, the type that would check their roster every day, normally competitive in your baseball leagues, the keeper league may be for you. If you're the kind of person that likes to casually check your team, don't waste your time with the keeper and stick to the re-draft leagues.
