No surprise on the winner, but Peavy became the 12th pitcher ever to win all 1st place votes.

He should have been the MVP, as well. It won't happen though.

Peavy is the sole reason the Padres stayed in contention as long as they did. Take Peavy away and they are an average to below-average team. That's why they should trade him now while they can get talent to replace him
