I'm looking forward to playing a much easier division in interleague this year, I think we we be able to handle teams like Oakland and Texas...not too sure about Seattle or Anaheim.

all I know is that we better open up at home...I'm sick of opening up on the road...3 yrs in a row is enough(PHI,LAD,FLA)

Updated with games against the Brewers and Mariners.

I wonder if our series against San Francisco that was tentatively scheduled to start on August 4th will be pushed back to the 5th. That will give us a Monday off day to travel across the country instead of a Thursday off day to travel from SF to Phoenix.

As much as playing Boston would be tough, Going to two games this season at Fenway versus the Braves was awesome!
I would love to go again next season!

Franceour signed two baseballs for me!!!

The Red Sox are playing at Philadelphia in the middle of June. They also have Toronto going in. I wonder if we may be done with the Red Sox... time will tell, but I find it odd that they would be in Philadelphia if they also have to play a home and away series with the Braves.

it might be like a few years back where we only play them once...we played either the west or the central and we had 1 series with Boston and 1 with Baltimore...

Updated to include an April 7-9 series at Colorado.Guess we'll have to try and work those back into the schedule sometime in August.

Early April... Denver... Ain't happening.

Good job, scheduling committee.

I get the feeling we're either gonna get screwed and open the season on the road 4 yrs running, or have some funky road trip early on....

Ehh, who cares. Im just tired of Boston fans traveling with the teams' luggage.

Offtopic thought:

For some reason, I think playing all 30 teams in a season sounds like a good idea.

We arent going to play Boston this season....and YES we do get to open at home versus the Pirates

From David O'Briens Blog report from the AJC

Braves are scheduled to open the 2008 season at home, against Pittsburgh. I think they’re going to play on the first day of the season, Monday, then have an off day Tuesday, the day that some teams will open. But not certain about that.
Also, as I mentioned, Braves don’t play Boston at all next season.

We get the Blue Jays out of the AL East.

So I wonder if we'll play a 2 game series or play regular 3 game set and head west without the off day

McCarroll21

Not sure. Perhaps they'll move the series with Colorado back to 8-10 and use that Monday as a travel day.

I also replaced the standings module on the homepage with a countdown to Opening Day. Obviously, it's still "tentative" until the official schedule is released, but it can always be changed if it's needed.

Not that it matters, but why not a countdown to ST?

I like how the final 5 series shakes up. We play the mets for 3 then the phils for 3, then the mets again and the phils again, then close out the year against the astros.

So that trip to Texas will be a nice trip with us seeing Salty and them seeing what Teix is like. Also with a few of us fans thinking Dan Haren will be a Brave, that'll help with him having have played the Angels, Mariners, Rangers, and knowing his own A's.

I don't see the problem there really... a trip to Colorado isn't like a trip to LA. It's only two time zones and we'll have a day game on Sunday to help get out of town before we go and come back across. It would have made more sense to have a West Coast trip there, instead of coming back across to Washington DC but it's not as bad as it appears.

Maybe I'm just biased. Heh. And maybe we can hit a hot streak and use it to our advantage, rather than have an off-day be counterproductive.

atleast we are going to be playing the first regular season game in the MLB in 2008. And it's only one game then we go home so what's wrong with that? I'd rather be able to see opening day (night) on national tv instead of missing the first game of the season and them playing at home.

I like that they are playing the opening game of the Nationals new stadium since I can't get a lot of games up here in NY unless it is on the comp so any game I can watch in good quality on TV makes me happy.
