When Jose Canseco wrote "Juiced" in 2005, he brought the issue of steroids in Major League Baseball to the forefront. Now, Canseco has another book due this fall and he promises some juicy info on Alex Rodriguez.
Canseco told WEEI-Radio in Boston on Friday that he has "other stuff" on the Yankees slugger, who he called a "hypocrite" who "was not all he appeared to be."
When asked if A-Rod had used steroids, Canseco told WEEI, "Wait and see."
In Baltimore for the Yankees' game against the Orioles on Saturday night, Rodriguez told reporters that he hadn't heard Canseco's comments about him. "And I have no comment," he told the newspaper.
Yankees manager Joe Torre said he was disappointed to hear about Canseco's comments.
"You worry about anything like that, because unfortunately, when people see it in print, they add credence to it. That's the sad part about it," Torre said, according to the New York Daily News. "It's a shame, because when you play this game, you'd like to believe you play with some kind of respect. Obviously, Jose needs the money."
You can always count on Canseco to keep things lively! Torre obviously just loves this guy.

Sell that book Jose. Did they play together? Ever? Not to my knowledge. Their times in Texas don't match, nor do their times with the Yankees. Based on that, how does he have any knowledge of anything that A-Rod does in a clubhouse?

A Rod's such a whimp though, someone like that shouldn't hold something so high. It just pisses me off seing a metro being the best player in a sport already considered "soft" by many people.

Of course he is, he's a scumbag.
Unfortunately, since his comments in his last book have been shown to have a ring of truth to them, he has garnered unwarranted credibility for being the guy who told the truth about the whole steroid mess. His comments in the new book will likely get much more credence than they deserve because of that, and many people will forget what a lying scumbag he is.

Sheffield never played with Bonds and look at shit surrounding those 2.

Sheff and Bonds were known to be very good friends before that incident.

More importantly, they famously worked out together in the offseason. Sheff spent a whole offseason with Barry so he could undertake the same training regimen that had worked so well for Barry. Only later did we realize that regimen included a healthy dose of pharmaceutical assistance.
Nobody is more closely linked together as far as potential steroids usage as are Bonds and Sheffield.

Who cares what Canseco has to say about A-Rod. I still can't bring myself to care about anything uttered by a guy whose last gig was a "celeb-reality" show on VH1. Who is gonna dish out goods next? Danny Bonaduce? Maybe Tom Sizemore can tell us who can might be hooking players up with 'roids (and crystal meth for that matter).
As for records, A-Rod will get the all time HR record in a couple years and then Phat Albert will get it after that. If Howard hadn't started so late he might actually have been able to then challenge Pujols, hell, he still might considering the park he plays in.

I think A-Rod will hit more HR's than any current player and be somewhere around 800 when he retires.

It is very possible, he did get a real early start (36 HR when he was 20) and has mashed since then. With some of these micro-stadiums though it is only a matter of time before some other young guy comes in and starts crushing HR's at a record pace himself. I guarantee the all time record falls several times over the next 2-3 decades.

Thats why I have always thought every field should be the same. Its bad enough the ball carries differently in some parks but the outfield wall should be the same distance at every park. It really makes a difference for a lot of HRs hit.
Of course , Canseco is a jerk and is out to sell books but his credibility is not that bad .
Remember that Congressional hearing where Palmeiro said " I never ever took steroids ( wrong ) , Sosa somehow forgot that he could speak English and McGuire sat there with sweat pouring off him saying " I don't want to talk about the past ."
It turns out that Canseco had the most credibility of any of them .
