<font size="3"><strong>Braves Hang On For Fifth Straight Win</strong></font>

After taking a five run lead in the eighth inning, the Braves left their bullpen in quite the predicament. Rafael Soriano was warming up to pitch the eighth inning in a tie game before the five run outburst. Soriano, who has allowed all but one of his runs in games with a four run or more scoring margin, gave up a run in his inning of work.
Next, Bob Wickman entered the game in the ninth inning to receive some work in a non-save situation, but after allowing three runs, he was forced to exit the game before letting the lead go. Wickman allowed two doubles and a homer, while only retiring one batter in the outing.
Tyler Yates was the beneficiary and came on and picked up his second career save.
"The name of the game is picking each other up," Atlanta manager Bobby Cox said. "Yates saved us."
Tied 1-1 after seven innings, the Braves offense exploded for 5 runs in the eighth. Willie Harris began the rally with a walk and stolen base before scoring on a double by Edgar Renteria. After the double, Chipper Jones reached on a fielder's choice, and Brian McCann was walked intentionally to load the bases. Francoeur drove in Renteria and Jones with a single up the middle. McCann was awarded third base on the play due to interference. Kelly Johnson followed with an RBI double to make it 5-1 and Matt Diaz delivered a pinch hit single for a 6-1 lead.
Tim Hudson allowed seven hits and struck out six over seven innings to get his eighth win on the season.
The Braves will go for their second straight sweep on Sunday as Buddy Carlyle takes on Dontrelle Willis for the Marlins.
