Josh Beckett continued his dominance over the Braves and evened the series on Tuesday. Georgia thunderstorms were the only thing that could knock Beckett out of the game.

Beckett left the game after the rain delay, giving up only four hits over six innings. Beckett ran his record to 10-1 and lowered his career ERA against the Braves to 2.45.

On the other hand, Tim Hudson didn't do anything to alter his career numbers against the Red Sox. After giving up four runs over 5.1 innings, Hudson's career ERA against the Red Sox now stands at 6.26.

All of the runs were scored in innings four through six against Hudson. David Ortiz hit a solo homerun in the fourth inning to start the scoring. The Red Sox scored two runs in the fifth inning on three hits, the most damage coming on a double by Beckett to drive in one run and set up the other. The fourth run came in as the result of a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

The Braves offense collected just five hits as a whole, and no hits after the top three spots in the order.

Edgar Renteria didn't return after the rain delay due to stiffness in his back, though it shouldn't hinder his ability to stay in the lineup.

The Braves will attempt to win the series on Wednesday behind Buddy Carlyle. Carlyle will face Julian Tavarez of the Red Sox.
