The Mets are getting spanked.
Pedro Feleciano, Scott Schoenweis, and Joe Smith combined to give up 8 runs in the 8th and 9th. They're losing 12-3 in the ninth.

Best game I've watched in over a week. The Brew were just toying with the muts pitchers
this means we're 1st until at least tomorrow

It's a final now, by the way. :D
We have a full game on the Mets right now. We need to win and push it to 1.5.

Wow...the Brew Crew are starting to concern me. How do you guys feel that we stack up again them? I know that Ben Sheets going against us is almost a sure win for them. What about the rest of the team?

The Brewers aren't that good. They're just making the most of playing in the worst division in baseball.
Manuel just pulled Garcia in the middle of an at bat. Garcia didn't look like he wanted to give the ball up and you could see them saying things to each other [though not facing each other] as Freddy walked off the mound.
Edit: Garcia was pulled after going to a 1-0 count on Matt Murton. Geoff Geary came in and gave up a 3-run homer two pitches later. I bet Garcia is thrilled with that.
Edit again: Garcia left with a 5-1 lead. The game is now tied 5-5. Garcia is fuming.

Don't get me wrong. They aren't a bad team and they are the best team in the Central. I'm just saying that if they played the Mets, Braves, Phillies and Marlins as many times as they play the Pirates, Reds, Cardinals and Astros they wouldn't be this good.
They're making the most of their location, but they aren't the best team in the majors.

Actually it just gives Garcia a chance to meet up with Manuel in his office and take him up on his offer for a fight before the game gets back under way.

how do you pull a pitcher when you're winning 5 - 1 and he's only 1/0 on a batter?

He threw a curve ball that didn't break as sharply.
At least let him finish off that batter and bring in someone fresh for Soriano. I mean, you move your ace to the pen and then pull your second ace in the 7th, while leading 5-1.
Good way to get Jimy Williams back into managing.

The Brewers don't scare me. I know braves fans have been saying that they would be the dark horse for years because we are all pulling for Ned Yost and half of our minor leaguers end up over there. But they don't scare me at all. They are decent at best in a decent at best division. Does anybody really think the Brewers could handle the Braves in a 7 game series?

Maybe. They've got good pitching.

We would have to beat Sheets at least once and then pick on the rest of them.
The Brewers are a good team, but they certainly aren't the best team in the majors or anything like that.
You never know what will happen in the playoffs though.

I think the Brewers are very good. They have a scary offense, solid starting pitching and a very good bullpen. There's a team every year that starts very hot and fades in the 2nd half. I do not think that will be the Brew Crew.

No one can actually like David Wright and Jeff Francoeur. It's a sin that is not allowed in baseball.
There is a bit of sarcasm above ... for those who can't detect it without a smiley.
