Nice to see five minute picks instead of 15... although not being able to trade em probably has something to do with it.

That and the chances of them having as big an impact on the team as an NFL or NBA draft pick is so much smaller and they aren't really about the team needs at that point.

No drafts should be televised IMO.

the nba draft is good to watch, and the 1st 2 rounds of the nfl draft are good, other than that nothing should be televised

I'm definitely gonna watch this, I was always interested in how MLB did the draft.

I listened to the MLB draft once, there was 30 secs between picks literally

I hope it will be on mlb.tv aswell because there might be the first french player ever drafted this year and I wouldn't want to miss that...

Is the link not working for anyone else?

Once this draft becomes a televised event it will be just as painful to watch as all the others. With all the sponsors getting their advertisements in, and Steve Phillips or a Steve Phillips type character spewing disinformation and speculation, it will be about as fun as watching a Nationals intra squad game.

This is good. It's gonna be on TV now.

I guess that's true. I hope they don't change the format in the future to fit it to TV. As someone said, if you listen to the draft on MLB.com, it's like picks come in at rapid fire speed. It gives the guys doing the commentating over the stream about enough time to say this guy is from here and these are his stats and he should give the team added depth here or that the team will probably convert them to here and then its on to the next pick.

Yeah, it's better if it's faster though. NFL draft was way too drawn out.

the real question is who is gonna be the mel kiper of baseball?
Knowing how much ESPN loves that moron Phillips, I'm sure he would be the guy.

I would hope they would use the guys that cover the draft from MLB.com. It won't happen, but that would be my dream.

come on guys...i think we all know that the Mel Kiper of baseball is the man who has such a vast knowledge of baseball...that it's just unbelievable: Joe Morgan.

That, my friend, may be the most brilliant post in the history of forums.

I think I would watch the draft if Joe Morgan was announcing it just for the unintentional comedy

I would watch every minute of the MLB Draft if Joe Morgan were somehow involved with a Q&A session of some sort.

I hope it is someone like one of the guys from Baseball America who knows about these guys getting drafted.

Only if Jon Miller is by his side giving the "proper" pronunciation of everyone's name who gets drafted

I'm very afraid of pronunciation:
For example:
"John Smooltz, now, to pitch." I'm not a fan of Jon Meeler.
