AJC Article - Groin won't keep Smoltz off mound (http://www.ajc.com/braves/content/sports/braves/stories/2006/09/13/0914bravesnotes.html)
Smoltz:
Smoltz isn't going to let his groin injury make him miss a start. I'm not sure I quite agree that it didn't effect him, but John's always been a straight shooter so him saying it has a little more credibility than most would.
John Smoltz says that he'll definitely make his start Saturday against Florida and minimizes the part a tender right groin played in his loss to the Chicago Cubs on Monday.
"I didn't come out because of my groin," Smoltz said after throwing his regular tuneup session Wednesday without issue. "I gave up six runs because I didn't pitch good.
Ramirez:
Horacio is probably done for the year. We all suspected it, but this pretty much makes it official.
"All they'll let me do is toss with the finger off the ball," Ramirez said. "They won't let me put any pressure on it. I have to just let the finger rest and heal. It's frustrating."
It's been an injury-plagued season for Ramirez, who had hamstring problems early in the season. He made just 14 starts, going 5-5 with a 4.48 ERA.
"Hopefully everything will be fine by spring training," Ramirez said.

Boyer:
Good to see him getting back out there. Hopefully he can get all of his mechanical issues straightened out and come back ready to go next Spring.
It was in the batting cages under the stands Tuesday, but reliever Blaine Boyer threw to hitters for the first time since having season-ending shoulder surgery in April.
"My arm feels good," Boyer said. "I've just got to get my mechanics and arm slot back."
Boyer will go to Florida this weekend for the start of the Braves' five-week instructional league program.
"I'm looking forward to getting into a game again," said the right-hander, who was 4-2 with a 3.11 ERA in 43 appearances last year as a rookie.
