It's on Insider, so unless you are either a) in a fantasy Baseball League on ESPN where you got the free subscription because of the reset, b) you have ESPN the Magazine (in which you get ESPN Insider for free, but only if you are subscribed), or C) you actually bought the Subscription to ESPN Insider (in which you got a subscription to ESPN the Magazine for free).
Anyways, Keith Law's #1 prospect?
1. Matt Weiters, C, Georgia Tech.
I didn't really realize that he was such a great player.
Also, in the 90s, there is a player who is a draft-and-follow player from last year by the Braves.
93. Cole Rohrbaugh, LHP, Western Nevada CC, Nev.

JMU! JMU! Kulbacki can HIT! Go get him, Braves.

AVG - .417
OBP - .534
HR - 17

GO DUKES!

Nice find.

24. Julio Borbon FTW! :D

I'm so glad I decided to go with ESPN fantasy baseball. I would have Insider if it wasn't for them messing up. lol

42. Nick Schmidt, LHP, Arkansas

Please draft him Braves. Please!

This isn't just a Hog thing...

Aside from his college stats, he was...selected to pitch for the USA National Team during the summer of 2006, Schmidt posted a 3-1 record with a 1.31 ERA in 34.1 innings of work … was the winning pitcher in the gold medal game of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) World Championship against Chinese Taipei in Havana, Cuba.http://www.davevanhorn.com/roster_NickSchmidt.htm

He's got a pretty impressive resume. If he were at LSU, Texas or another one of the powerhouses, he'd be a clear cut first rounder.

whoa- how does that work? I'm in a league there but never heard about this.

You probably weren't notified that you have insider now. Try logging in on the insider page and see if it lets you in. That's how I got insider a few years ago. I wouldn't pay for it by itself, that's for sure.

Anyone know where Cody Johnson is?

Anyone know where Cody Johnson is?minorleaguebaseball.com shows him still with the GCL Braves. He hasn't started his season yet if that's the case.

And bout Schmidt, I know the Braves usually go for high school pitchers, but lately we've drafted more college pitchers in attempt to re-stock the system. I would love to see Schmidt in a Braves uniform.

They had to reset rosters to the opening day rosters because there was a problem with making substitutions in some leagues. So, they gave a free Insider subscription to everyone who was signed up in a fantasy baseball league.

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to see him play in person but have followed his progress through the wonders of the Internet. From what I've read, pitchers aren't throwing him many fastballs this year and are pitching around him at times - which makes his numbers all the more impressive.

Danny Payne from GT is pretty good, too.

I hope we end up taking Derik Olvey from LSU in a later round. It'd be awesome to have one of my old highschool buddies on the big club. Plus, I could tell my grandchildren that I hit a homer off a major league player.

56. Nathan Vineyard, LHP, Woodland High School, Emerson, Ga.
I played baseball with this kid growing up. I've known him for a long time. Not too fond of him, though.

85. Danny Payne, OF, Georgia Tech
My brother played against him a lot on traveling teams. I watched him quite a few times back in the day.

Don't know how he's doing this year, but Weiters is a switch-hitting catcher with power and slings 98 mph heat as the Jacket's closer. That = #1 pick.

At least he was last year, which where I heard about his impending #1 draft status for the first time.

I think he gone. He is not on LSU's roster

You know, I really don't know much about college and HS baseball players...but if it's one thing I know, it's that the Braves should ALWAYS draft pitching. Stock up those young arms and reap the benefits if they ever come to reach potential.

Plus, pitching prospects are ALWAYS hot on the market, so it's good to have them to trade for proven major leaguers when necessary.

Last time I talked to him he was with Notre Dame but I've tried to keep up with his career. He's actually at Arizona State this year putting up great numbers. Weird that he'd hop from ND to LSU to Arizona St. in the span of five years.

9. Jarrod Parker, RHP, Norwell (Ind.) High School

Yyyyyesss! It's nice to see a local boy up there so high (I'm an Indiana kid). Parker throws 98 and has struck out 57 with 0 ER this year, and the coach refuses to pitch him more than once a week to preserve his arm for the majors..

I forgot we both live in Fort Wayne, I faced him earlier this year and I can see where he will get beat up down the road. His fastball is pretty straight. He can get away with that in high school but later on he won't be able to. Unfortunately I am one of the 57 :(. I was right on the fastball (fouled 2 straight back) but then he back-doored me with a deuce that I had no shot on. Do you guys play them this year?

he can still blow it by people. he throws in the upper 90s. I believe he can touch 100. I mean, Will Startup is doing really good in AAA and Fields is supposed to be a better pitcher than him.

I misstated it as a fansite. It was a Georgia website. something like GeorgiaDogs. I think they talked about it on tv last year when the Bulldogs made it to the College World Series.

It was probably over a year ago. I dont even know if the article still exist and I dont care to prove my point enough to dig that deep into the websites that it might have been on.

I just remember that one point where it was talking about him throwing 99-100, I thought "man the Braves could use a guy like that now"
