Atleast he should be, he sent several bottles of Champaign to the KC Royals locker room during there series over the weekend. He did this to thank them for knocking the Tigers out of first last season. According to league rules a player who sends gives to an opposing team is supposed to be suspended for no less than 3 years.

This was on BBTN tonight. He won't get suspended. The Union would go crazy about it. The champagne hasn't been uncorked. He may get a fine, but won't get anything else.
Good thread title, thank goodness I can edit it. I don't see how you can take what the maximum punishment is and say that is what he'll get.

I know he won't get suspended for three years, I just put that title there so people will draw towards the thread. You would have to be a moron to think that Hunter will be suspended for three years.

I don't get why that's a rule or why its written no less than 3 years, that's ridiculous?
I think its just a funny gesture and these things should be take on a case by case basis and nothing should happen to Hunter, this is a joke.

The rule, 21-b, regards misconduct and is titled "Gift For Defeating Competing Club." It prohibits anyone connected with a particular team from offering a gift or reward to a person connected with another club for an attempt to defeat a competing club. The giver and receiver, without notification of the commissioner's office, are subject to ineligibility for "not less than three years."
Ryan said he didn't anticipate punishment.

Does that mean the Mariners GM and the Braves will be suspended for three years b/c of the Soriano/Horacio deal?
