Timely Hitting, Strong Pen leads Braves past Fish

Four Braves relievers (Pete Moylan, Tyler Yates, Rafael Soriano and Bob Wickman) combined to throw six shutout innings and our Braves scored ALL their runs with two outs on Tuesday night.
The Braves got off to a good start in the first. Andruw singled home Kelly Johnson whom walked. After McCann reached, Frenchy immediately followed with an RBI double. Then, like clockwork, Scott Thorman hit a two-out two-RBI single.
Mark Redman couldn't hold the four run lead, though. He constantly left pitches over the plate, allowing an RBI single to Cabrera and then a three run homer to Cody Ross.
We weren't ready to give up yet, though. Marlins' rookie Rick Vanden Hurk walked the bases loaded in the top of the second and was immediately pulled. However, Lee Gardner couldn't stop the bleeding. He walked Brian McCann with them' loaded. He then threw a first pitch fastball to Francoeur, which he ripped to left for yet another RBI. He leads the league with 24.
Redman had an uneventful bottom of the 2nd. However, in the bottom of the 3rd, he blew the lead yet again when Cody Ross hit a two run double.
Pete Moylan replaced Redman after the 3rd. He pitched three scoreless innings, allowing one hit.
In the sixth, Brian McCann came through in the clutch with a SAC fly, making the score 7-6. This ended up being all the Braves needed.
Tyler Yates threw a 1-2-3 7th inning and Soriano had a 1-2-3 8th.
In the 9th inning, the Braves blew it wide open. After a couple of hits, the struggling Ryan Langerhans was walked intentionally to load the bases for Pete Orr. Petey lined one through the hole on the right side, scoring Francoeur and Thorman. KJ followed with an RBI single that scored Langerhans. Then, for just a bit more insurance, Renteria singled in Pete Orr.
That ended the scoring at 11-6.
Bob Wickman came in to pitch the 9th. He allowed one hit.
NOTES:
The Braves' pen pitched six innings of two-hit, shutout baseball.
With this win, Atlanta avoided losing their first series of the season for now. They will need a win tomorrow to keep the streak alive.
