Video Section of the forums

I was wondering if we could have a videos section...we could embed youtube videos or post links to videos on other sites..

I tried that with porn. Mc and Chief liked the idea, but it took up way too much bandwidth.

.. Just kidding. The only problem is that there just isn't a lot of content out there except for the vids we already have on the myspace page.

HA this thread reminds me that I have to upload some videos on Dailymotion, youtube deletes my mlb vids, dailymotion doesn't. I'm sure you guys can't wait to see the good memories of Pratt sending his bats into the crowd :nod:

I'm searching if I have more vids. If you remember any strange play that happened since now and 2005, braves or no braves, tell me and I'll try to record it. I'm trying to make a collection proving that Andruw loves eating dirt, aka his tripping on 1st base after his homer last year, and his many swings ending on the ground, if you guys remember the dates of these events I'd be happy :nod:

i don't think we necessarily need a forum for it.

i think a thread would be better...something along the lines of "post your random videos here."

but that would eat up A LOT of bandwidth, we'll see what McCarroll thinks.

If they're linked to off site it wouldn't use any bandwidth. May take the page a long time to load but it wouldn't be any bandwidth on our part.

A better idea, in my opinion, is linking to them. Upload them elsewhere ... some file sharing site ... and link to it. Embedding them would be fine, but you have to remember that some things autoplay and would lead to multiple videos starting on every page load. That would take forever for every video on the page to buffer out.

It's kind of what the Random Links thread in the General Chit Chat has turned in to anyway.

Also, MLB is pretty strict about the content they allow to be posted elsewhere. We've had some videos removed from our myspace because of it ... along with the many that have been taken off YouTube over the years. It would be hard to keep videos posted, especially enough to warrant it's own forum.

I don't think it's worth a forum, maybe a thread. I've put my page in my profile as my home page, and I'm adding videos.

As for the videos, I think Dailymotion is the way to go, just take a look at the stuff posted there and you'll see they don't care much

It's not necessarily the site that hosts it that cares, it's just how long until MLB finds out and notifies them to remove it.

One more idea .. remember that crazy inning last year when nobody could catch the ball? I somehow forgot who we were playing (maybe the phils?) but we rallied for four runs to win the game. Sloppiest defense ever. I'd love to see that again.

FYI .. that's the game when you said "Mr MVP, heap, and hack, sounds like a five run story" in the gamethread. You got it right.

Josh..i'm talking about linking them from other sites (embedding) like from YouTube. I meant specifially for Braves videos..maybe like a page for them..like we have the pictures section.
