A bronze statue commemorating the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Armenians in Turkey has been stolen from the Paris suburb of Chaville.

That makes me sick. The thing is, if someone destroyed the holocaust museum there would be HUGE backlash.. but nobody remembers .. or apparently even cares that Armenians in Turkey were American Citizens and were nearly wiped off the face of the earth.

I didn't even know it had happened, I didn't see anything about it on the news on TV, or I missed it, but it didn't make the front page.
Yes it's a shame, really. People who did that are bastards.
On the France side, well it could happen anywhere, there are morons in all countries. For the bashing, well I'm happy to be french and not to be dieing of aids in some african country (no i'm not racist). And for the comeback I'll say at least here abortion is legal, there is no death penalty and we don't teach god's stupid creationism in schools.

Not supposed to be fun. Im talkin about somethin near and dear to me. Some of my ancestors died over there in Turkey in that fight.

Did you know .. Hitler saw the Armenian genocide as great work? When he told his people about his 'final solution' plan .. many thought it wouldnt happen because of outside interferance. He convinced his people that it COULD work ... by saying .. "After all, who remembers the Armenian Extermination?"

know your subject man, it's fun when it's about girls not shaving and smelling (even tho it got old some centuries ago), but don't start with nazi shit or you're gonna get me fucking mad.
Come to france, you're welcomed in my house. I'll show you how it is, I'll show you the mess it is in our "ghettos", because it's obviously worse than in atlanta, and maybe then you won't make typos on our president's name, and you'll think twice before saying such dumb things.

I do know that France has more antisemetic protests than anyother country in the world, including the "country" of Palestine. I know that Chirac's administration has been marred by scandals. I know that Chirc barely beat out a socialist in 2002, and i know about the riots in 2005. And I do believe that Chirac is a douche. The Best thing to come out of France is the name "LaRoche" which I think means "the rock" in French.

Nas, if your offering me plane tickets and a place to stay in France, then I will gladly take you up on that offer. if not, then dont offer it.

The Armenians were an ancient group of people in Turkey and in the Ottoman Empire conducted an "ethnic cleanzing" of the Armeninas. I am not too sure what there ancient history was or their religious effiliation.

Yes, the actual massacre came in 1915 though. Many of the Armenians in Turkey were in fact American Citizens living on American soil .. a safe-haven if you will .. right on their border with Georgia. The politicians said they were working under wraps with the bordering nation and were essentially letting the Georgians into Turkey. Which was a lie. Plus that dosent explain the other 1.6 + million dead whom lived outside of the protected walls. It was all about ethnic cleansing.

Anyways I just wanted to educate a few on the subject.

BTW the ones inside the American Mission's walls fought heavily armed Turkish soldiers with WWI era cannons and rifles for weeks. Many American missionaries and doctors died there as well. Not a pretty moment in history.
