The Braves traded one of their surplus of infielders Friday, sending Tony Pena Jr. to the Kansas City Royals for right-handed pitcher Erik Cordier. Cordier, 21, was a combined 4-1 with a 2.91 ERA at two Class A stops last season. The former second-round draft pick missed the 2005 season with a knee injury. Pena split the 2006 season between Class AAA Richmond and Atlanta. He had been fighting for a backup infield job along with Willy Aybar, Chris Woodward, Martin Prado and Pete Orr.
