The Braves and Brian McCann each came away feeling good about the future after the catcher agreed to a six-year contract extension today. General manager John Schuerholz called the contract "historic and unprecedented" and noted that the Braves have never awarded a contract either as long as six years or to a player as young as McCann (23), who has less than two years of service time in the majors.
