After 3 years at LSU, he has decided to turn pro and head to the NBA. Most definitely a lottery pick.

A huge mistake, and whoever drafts him in the lottery is making the same mistake. He will get abused by centers and most power forwards in the league and will get lost trying to track down power a small forward.
I don't see him panning out in the NBA.

This website (http://www.nbadraft.net/) would disagree with that assessment (chipperboy's). It has him listed as the 50th overall pick, far from a lottery pick.
The biggest downside to Davis is that he tends to play around the perimeter too much considering how big he is. Even if he works on staying down low, his height will hurt him.
I will say this, his energy and competitiveness will serve him well but it may not make him a lottery pick.

He's big! He should go to the NFL!
I agree with both of you.
I never said that I would take him in the lottery, as I feel that he doesn't deserve it. 50th is a little low, but if I were an NBA team, I wouldn't pick him until the early second/late first.

Thank you. I was kind of wondering why someone would draft him in the lottery, I could even see him being undrafted to be honest. It's one thing to be overweight, it's another to be out of shape and overweight. Put him on the floor with an NBA team and he'll be sucking for air in 3 trips.
I'm not going to act like I'm the super evaluator of talent, but I don't see this one panning out. He'll be like the Mateen Cleaves of the world, great college players who go nowhere in the NBA ... just Big Baby doesn't have a ring for people to remember him by.

He is making a huge mistake. He should have come out last year, he would have been a 1st rounder. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain if he came back. I do no see him getting drafted this year.
This is basically news that has been known for a week.
