Add Chuck James to the Atlanta Braves' list of starting pitchers enjoying strong springs. James overcame control problems to throw five scoreless innings on Monday, lowering his spring ERA to 2.57, and Scott Thorman hit his first homer and drove in three runs in the Braves' 6-0 win over the Cleveland Indians. James gave up only four hits but walked three batters. He loaded the bases in the second inning with two walks after Casey Blake's double, but he pitched out of the jam.
