I'll start this by saying that this interview was taken from the FCA Youth Rally they did at a church in Augusta, GA. Some of this may not be for everyone, but it's still fun to hear them talk about their passion for the game.

Jeff says he actually quit baseball at age 12 because he was burned out on it.

Anyway, some of you may want to check it out, some of you may want to stay away. I haven't watched the whole thing so I can't tell you much about it right now.

I will warn you that it's 45 minutes long, so if you want to watch it, be sure you have a lot of time to spare. The interview is great, even for those who don't care much about being "preached to." I'm one of them, so you can take it from me, watching this doesn't feel like you're being preached to because it's more about how their interaction with Christ came through baseball. Smoltzie does a little more preaching, but you can't help but listen to him. :D

Interesting...
Yeah, Jeff did quit when he was 12, and just decided to play golf for a while, as he got burned out by all of the summer league games and such, so he just stepped back and played golf for a while.
It was in Scout's Honor. :D

I thought it was football he started playing? Or maybe he was already playing football along with baseball?

Nope, quit to play golf. He played everything in high school though.

That was a cool video, I listened to the whole thing, just left it minimized while I did other stuff. Just goes to show that these are real, down to earth people, and not the gods that we make them out to be. Pretty cool.
