Farthest thing from cocky... I just saw the opening for humor. Maybe next year we can make it two good years since 1943.
We have a whole new stable of running backs coming in to replace our current group. One of which broke all of Felix Jones records at their high schools, another who is drawing comparisons to McFadden. If the offensive line and defensive line can fill the holes, we should be better this year and into the future.

Mustain. Kill the guy for going 8-0 as a freshman why don't you? He'll have a better season his sophomore year as he's more adjusted to game speed. Give me a true freshman QB who was successful every time out in the SEC?
Nevermind the fact we beat Tennessee 31-14 without a QB.

#1 - i posted a helmet?
#2 - be sure to take your shots everyone...give it time, Miami will be back at the top...Vols fans especially should understand that...what was the 2006 record? 5-6 (3-5 SEC)?
McCarroll21
01-14-2007, 11:42 PM
Mustain would've been about 3-5 without the two-headed monster. And he'll still have that two-headed monster next year to help him make the transition. He'll still have Monk, he'll have London Crawford. He'll have an incoming running back who broke Felix' records at Booker T. Washington High in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Their coach says the incoming freshman is a better back than Felix. Felix is a sprinter, Harris is a running back.
So yes, I feel comfortable with Mustain at QB. Who cares if his record would be worse if he didn't have McFadden and Jones beside him, there's no college QB that would be just as good or better without the best running back duo in the nation.

And as for you McCarroll, what happens if McFadden goes down with an injury? It would be grim. So, I suppose we'll see.
So, who we got in the SECCG next year?

So, who we got in the SECCG next year?If McFadden goes down to injury, we'll get him back for another season. We'll lose the best running back in the nation, replace him with one of the next best. Then we'll either use Mike Smith, Michael Harris or Juwan Franklin (incoming freshmen) to give Felix a breather.
What if Phil chokes on a doughnut and you're left with Cutcliffe coaching? We all know how that worked out at Ole Piss...

That had nothing to do with sportsmanship, maybe some immaturity, but not sportsmanship. Also, it wasn't just the players from Miami involved, and the players from Miami didn't start it. It only comes off as that because ESPN doesn't care about talking about FIU.

Why would Yale not count? It is a college. They have sports. If you have an intimate connection to Yale, they should be your favorite team. Just because they are not that good or do not compete with bigger schools does not mean they should not be your #1. Yale had a good football team this year, if I remember correctly.

I'm more of a baseball and b-ball fan anyway... any year they go to a bowl is just a bonus... but they did get Greg Paulus' bro to commit to UNC which i find funny
Understandable that a UNC guy would be more of a basketball fan, I'm just saying Butch Davis will be in the red and white of the Arkansas Razorbacks before too much longer.
Just a hunch. I'm not completely in favor of it, but I think Houston Nutt will be fired and the Tyson family will pay his way to Arkansas. They'll gladly pay whatever his buyout amount is to bring him home.

w00t! I hate when people have a favorite but then pick a second team too. Hell, my school I support is in turmoil right now but I'm not trying to find a second team.
I do kind of do this for the NBA though. I don't particularly care for the NBA [well, since Jordan retired ... the second time] so I usually pick an underdog team before the year to halfway support. This year was the Jazz, last year was the Heat. The reason I'm pulling for the Jazz is Ronnie Brewer, but this Warrior team is hard not to rally behind. They're fun to watch.
lmartin6
05-14-2007, 08:14 AM
Yeah, for the NBA, unless you're a true NBA fan, it's different. During the season, I root for the Hawks, then during the playoffs I go for the underdog team. But for a college sport, screw that. I don't even like it when people say "In football, this is my team, but in basketball these guys are my team." Pick a school, root for them through thick and thin. That's not to say I won't pull for a certain team over another certain, and root certain ways in certain situations, but never will you hear me say "this is my second favorite team" or "my other sport team"

Just take a look at the avatar, and it should be obvious. :)Heh, just noticed that I made this post back in September, when I was using a Danny Ware avatar, and it still holds true -- only indirectly, and with a different school, this time. It would've been funny had I also worked my sig into that previous statement, because it and my avatar now sum up my loyalties perfectly.

I know they are out there, but GT fans are very sporadic once you actually leave their campus area, whereas the UGA fans occupy a very large chunk of the state, and most of the one's who aren't root for other SEC schools. At the same time, most of these people are still Braves fans, so the Braves playing a mere 3 minutes from the Yellow Jackets has nothing at all to do with this discussion

1 reason he has the most 3 pointers in history is because 1) The three point line has only been around for about 25 years. 2) In the old days you could not play as a freshman.

I guess. That group of 9th graders went to the state semis twice, state quarters once and won state their senior year.
Monk ended up going to school at Arkansas to play football/basketball but gave up on basketball for obvious reasons. P.J. The other was Boo Collins and I believe he went to play football at a smaller school in Arkansas.

Traitor!
Haha I know, my family is going to think the same thing. I'm not converted yet. I told him I'd never be fully converted untill football season gets here. Watching Univ of SC may just make me sick to my stomach. So who knows what'll happen when football starts?

Well my boyfriend is USC fan and he has been trying his best to talk me into being a Gamecock fan ever sense the end of football season. I just never made up my own mind about who to pull for. I just automatically pulled for Clemson because my family did, and since I never had any opposition to convert me, I just stayed with the family ties. (Yea, its stupid but oh well) But, this season, I'm going to watch both teams closely and for once make up my own mind about the two teams. One HUGE downside to being a USC fan is the coach. I REALLY don't like Steve.

Well you are from greenville and you called me a traitor for possibly converting to USC. Plus you are trying to convince me to stay strong and don't convert. Any non-clemson fan could care less..

If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you, it will... Keep that in mind.
