I've rooted for Georgia Tech symbolically all my life, but I didn't really start paying attention to college sports until 1997, when I went to my first football game in Atlanta. Joe Hamilton led Georgia Tech to a win over NC State that day. I've followed them closely ever since. I was at Samford Stadium in 1998 for the lucky as hell win that snapped Georgia's 7-game winning streak.

Ever since I moved to Anderson, SC to stay, I started to root for South Carolina a few years ago, because a) I need a team to root for in SEC country and b) I don't like Clemson! ;)

first our defense was one of the tops in the nation through the first four games, then we started to feel the trickel down effect.
First we loose Nathan Peppers ( clearly a huge play maker)
Second we loose Jasper Brinkley (pre-season All-American) both of these were truly huge looses. and I know McCarroll is a huge Razorback, and dam DMac ran all over our D, but did you see the hit that Emanuel Cook laid on DMac, Cook is a FS and he took him out the game for a couple of plays. When you loose several KEY players on Defense, and you have to move some over to the O-line because our O-line is young and couldn't block anyone, this makes a very huge difference. Plus our QB's have been like EKG monitors, up and down.
Now I know they were not a top 6 team in the nation, but they did earn and play their way into the top 25, and within the first four weeks, they could have beaten any team in the nation.
But as all ways I have to say those famous words "wait til next year".

P.S. Jasper Brinkley will be coming back next year.

Well you've been a fan of both longer than I have. Ive only been a Duke fan for like 3 years, they were the first basketball team I watched play that I actually enjoyed it. Their passion (mainly the floor slaps) is amazing. What's crazier is the fact that Ive only been a Gamecock fan for 2 years... haha I was a clemson fan my whole life until 2 summers ago. All I can say is I finally saw the light!!! But I am loyal to both my Blue Devils and Gamecocks now!!

Yeah I really hope this is our year and it should be. I am just so use to the annual let down as I'm sure you are as well, that I will believe it when I see it. We are arguably a top five TALENT WISE team in the nation, who is only one Tommy Bowden blunder away from blowing it. I really think you all should have a sick D this year though. I went to SCAR first practice the other day. Brinkley is a freakin beast and Captin Munnerlin is in my opinion the most underrated corner in the nation. We will just have to wait and see what the ole' ball sack has planned with his offense this year.

Well you've been a fan of both longer than I have. Ive only been a Duke fan for like 3 years, they were the first basketball team I watched play that I actually enjoyed it. Their passion (mainly the floor slaps) is amazing. What's crazier is the fact that Ive only been a Gamecock fan for 2 years... haha I was a clemson fan my whole life until 2 summers ago. All I can say is I finally saw the light!!! But I am loyal to both my Blue Devils and Gamecocks now!!I'm so disappointed in you. My warnings it would seem had no effect.
