Another one down (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2612495)

The Texas Rangers parted ways with manager Buck Showalter, Dallas media outlets reported Wednesday.

The Rangers did not make the postseason in his four years at the helm. Texas lost the finale 3-2 Sunday at Seattle to finish 80-82, its sixth losing record in seven seasons since last making the playoffs in 1999.

Showalter had a contract through 2009 and was the AL manager of the year only two years ago.

who do you think the Rangers will hire?

Girardi?

Think he'd be a decent hitting coach? I'm not complaining about TP, he got us to be #2 i the NL in runs, and got Diaz, LaRoche, McCann, etc., to reach there potientials, but Showalter seems like he'd be good. maybe if the Cubs lose out on Girardi, they'll take a shot on him.

I'm not sure. There is going to be a massive turnover though because a lot of managers won't return to managing. I think Showalter will go back to the booth, and I'd look for Brenly and Piniella to come out of the booth.

Cal Ripken has supposedly signed on with TBS new baseball package, maybe he'll spend some time with our hitters and fielders.

Let's hope Cal talks with Chipper about endurance.

Cal signed with TBS as what? an announcer, anylyst?Yeah, he'll do the games with Chip. I'm guessing analyst. Not sure if he'll do the Braves games next year on TBS, but he'll for sure be on with TBS for the divisional series and then for the 2008 Sunday deal.

Let's hope Cal talks with Chipper about endurance.I, McCarroll21, approve of this message.:clap::clap:
