Starting Pitchers

Braves: Derek Lowe, RHP (3-2, 5.79)
Lowe struggled in four of his first five starts and has seen his ERA rise steadily since limiting the Giants to one earned run over six innings in his April 10 start. On Tuesday against the Cardinals, the 36-year-old right-hander allowed five earned runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings with four strikeouts and two walks.

Astros: Bud Norris, RHP (1-2, 5.60)
Norris was roughed up in his last start, Tuesday against Cincinnati, allowing six hits, five earned runs and four walks in five innings. This will be his 15th career start and 16th appearance in a Major League game. He's 7-5 with a 4.79 ERA since he joined the Majors late last year and has struck out 77 batters and allowed 78 hits in 73 1/3 innings. Norris has never faced the Braves.

@ajcbraves Bobby Cox said Escobar doesn't seem to be close to returning, hasn't ruled out DL. But they should will more later today or tomrorow.

Thought I'd carry this over from the old gamethread so we didn't cross gamethreads.

ajcbraves (http://twitter.com/ajcbraves) CF Jordan Schafer will begin a rehab assignment at Class A Rome on Monday. He's been recovering from September wrist surgery.

Omar's a pretty good stop-gap. At least he won't make any mental mistakes. :p

What are the chances we see him in Atlanta in 2010?

Slim to none if it's before September call-ups, I'd wager. Even now, I dont envision either Melky or Diaz being kicked to the curb or even benched.

Thank god its on FSN today.. I caught maybe 2 innings total yesterday...
We got hit pretty hard with floods... I-24 was underwater at certain points... Was wild to see cars totally capsized..

Anyways... lets get this sweep... we need it badly.
Today's special number.... is "4"
We'll see I guess.

Hopefully we can break out the Bobby image for the first time this season today.

Also, good to hear that about Schafer. I'd love to see him have a speedy recovery and start hitting well throughout the rehab.

Hopefully yesterday was the turning point. Maybe Lowe can be useful today but I doubt it.

We could really stand a good outing by Lowe today, hopefully this guy will find his stuff and actually learn a little bit of the money that we're giving him.

I'm more worried about us not scoring runs the day after we put up double digits. Lowe sucking is just inevitable at this point.

I know it doesn't have anything to do with the actual game today but in playing today's game on my 2k10 franchise ealier, Heyward went 3 for 4 with 3 homers. (2 2-R shots, and the last a grand slam), maybe it's a sign

Because he's white and can throw hard. Josh loves those guys. :)

I wonder if Heyward gave him a sweet spot. I think Upper Deck has him paid not to, but maybe he can make exceptions.
