Please let this not be true.

Hell, he's having a hard enough time finding a team for 2007. I wish the Giants would take that contract that he denied and say, "Well, sorry. We tried."

Man, that would be sweet.

The Giants deserve to have him grab the money and get injured for offering him that horrible deal to start with. Don't they realize how stupid they look bringing back Bonds?

They might, but they also realize the fact that Bonds is their whole team (with the exception of Zito). They need him to hit 756 in SF, if he hits it. Wouldn't it be funny (even though I'd be mad) if they voided the deal, he signed a contract with another team, and either a) hit # 756 against the Giants, or b) the same as the first choice but in San Fran?

Bonds should of retired after last season but we all know what he wants.

Think about it like this:

Here is a guy who is on the cusp of breaking one of sports all-time records, and is still a .400+ OBP player(By far), and yet nobody wants him!

No, he didn't do drugs. (Yeah Right!). What an a$$clown. I hope that he gets snubbed by all of the teams and he falls short.

Too bad he isn't an infield player, because haha I bet everybody would try to crush him when running around the bases or sliding. Oh maybe some catcher will destroy him on a play at the plate (sorry barry, hey don't forget your shoulder)

Much of that OBP is because pitchers still pitch around him like he is the Bonds of a few years ago. Hopefully this year they realize that he is no longer the best hitter in baseball and is not deserving of a free pass. Challenge him at the plate and make him actually beat you by hitting the ball.

eh, once he breaks the record, i could care less what he does

he will probably retire after this year if he hits 756. If they would just forget about Bonds they would have had more money to sign someone like Carlos Lee.

They want that record to be held by a Giant. They probably figure they've put up with Bonds this far, they might as well see it through and get the payoff for the hassle. The home run record will be broken by a Giant. They might even feel the fans deserve it for supporting Bonds through all of this turmoil.

i wonder how Giant's fans feel about him.

I guess that the bulk of them begrudgingly support him. After all, he's on their team. They need him to succeed for the team to succeed. And I'm sure a fair number of them happily overlook any scandal and genuinely support him. The biggest jackasses in sports always have ardent supporters amongst the fans of their own team.

Even T.O. has plenty of supporters from Cowboys fans. I know that T.O. was very popular here in Philly, that is until he left town.

Did Bonds really say he was going to play until he hit 1000 homeruns?
That is obsurd - Leave it to Barry! I think once the roids are out of his system he will go down hill FAST.
