First exhibition game is tomorrow with these pitchers scheduled to pitch after Hanson:

Tuesday: Medlen, Jesse Chavez, Michael Dunn, Chris Resop, James Parrand Manny Acosta. And here's a picture just just how big Heyward really is:

Now McLouth isn't a big guy, but DAMN.

I'm ready to see how Bobby constructs the lineup. Even if it is the first game it'll be very telling IMO.

mlbbowman (http://twitter.com/mlbbowman) Braves scheduled pitchers Tues @ Mets: Hanson, Chavez, Dunn, Resop, Parr, Acosta. Chipper, Glaus and Diaz not scheduled to travel.

Nevermind. Looks like Heyward will most likely start.

ajcbraves (http://twitter.com/ajcbraves) Jurrjens had first bullpen session today, albeit a brief one (about 15 pitches, as instructed by trainers). "Excellent," Bobby Cox said.

For those that are interested, I did a video appearance on hotstove.com talking about Braves ST and offseason moves. It was pretty cool and since I started writing right here at BN I figured some would want to listen to what was produced by this great community. It'll be archived later today and I'll post the video up. I wanted to put a link to the live feed up but my internet was on the fritz.

The first home game will be on the 3rd, I believe. That'll be the telling one.

Odds that Heyward bats 3rd with Chipper not playing? Bobby liked Kelly enough to put him there...seems to be even more thrilled with JHey

McLouth, Prado, Heyward, Freeman, McCann, Esco.........that's my guess

Drop Freeman behind Esco and that's probably right...McCann will probably bat cleanup if Glaus is out...

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Jair Jurrjens took another positive step on Monday morning, when he was able to complete a short mound session without feeling any discomfort in his previously ailing right shoulder.

Provided clearance to throw off the mound for the first time since Spring Training began, Jurrjens threw 15 fastballs. Braves manager Bobby Cox said the 24-year-old right-hander looked "excellent" during the session, which was kept short via directions provided by the club's medical staff.

Here's the video I talked about in the last page. I asked McC if I can post it but he hasn't responded yet. Here's to hoping his answer was a yes! haha. http://www.hotstove.com/2010/03/hot-stove-tv-braves-chat-with-ben-duronio-the-bravesologist/

It was fun talking to them, and I honestly have gained most of my Braves knowledge from this site and it really did spark my interest in the Braves. I remember when I first started coming to Braves forums I was one of the guys who thought batting average was the end all be all and fielding percentage actually meant something. I think you can tell I am a bit nervous in it.

without a doubt Billy Wagner is one of my favorite Braves and he hasn't even played for us yet (http://www.ajc.com/sports/atlanta-braves/wagner-has-quickly-become-340028.html)

This will never happen but I would really love to see the lineup play out like this: McLouth, Chipper, Heyward, Glaus, McCann, Escobar, Diaz & Prado.

I think that Chipper's great vision he's always had at the plate & the level of respect he still commands from opposing pitchers would really allow him go back to being an OBP machine if he were hitting in a spot where putting up power numbers wasn't such a must. Not to mention I couldn't think of a better spot in the lineup to let Heyward adjust to ML pitching than in between Chipper & Glaus, with McCann & Escobar giving added protection!

I'm not going to be able to watch the game today :(. But, LOL I've never seen BN so pumped over a Spring Training Game. I'd be pumped too if I could watch. Anyways, the Jason Heyward in-game fiesta starts today. How about a quick start?

I know how much we all love line up construction debates  but I can't resist.

I'd like us to look into batting Heyward in the 2 hole. I think it'd be more likely to happen than Chipper moving, and he gets great protection, maybe even better protection.

He's expected to have a decent OBP already, which is what you want out of the 2 hole, and it worked great for Andre Ethier (who split time there last year). In his first year he doesn't have to have great power numbers and he should get good pitches to hit. Plus with his eye, he'll still get on base a lot.

McLouth, Heyward, Chipper, Glaus, McCann, Esco, Diaz, Prado

Just a thought.
