1.) Player x is good because he is hitting well in the second half, even though his season totals aren't good
- I dont understand this and people constantly say "Giles is good! He is hitting .295 in the second half." Giles is hitting .265 overall and isnt having a good year
2.) Player x is good because he is young
- Talent, not age is what you want

I'm just mentioning common fallacies that I see. This is a message board, correct? Giles is not having a better season than Renteria because he is hitting better in the SECOND half. Look at SEASON TOTALS, not snap shots of the year

A few people...not sure if its from this board or not but a lot of people have said "Giles is good this year" when that just isnt the case

Giles has improved in the second half to put up the kind of numbers that we are USED TO SEEING. He was hurt at the start.
I don't think anyone is saying he's having a better year than Renteria .. but he's having a better second half.
BTW this IS a forum, but you need to start posting more than two or three one liners .. otherwise its just a waste of space.

Alright, but Giles season totals still arent that good and ever since 2003, he has been in decline. He has gotten smaller in stature, whether he took steroids or not is anyone's guess but Giles is declining

take your rants somewhere else bravesmill. Nobody wants your opinions. Just because a player didn't hit well in the 1st half soesn't mean he has had a bad season. Look at Adam LaRoche. He had a terrible 1st half, and look where he is now. Please don't post your usesless opions here.
