I am using Linux and have I trouble with a lot of Java chats.

Is the chat IRC or Java based?

Are you talking about the chatroom itself or the shoutbox at the top of the forums?

The chatroom itself. When you click 'Chatroom' on the main page.

I guess I'll answer what I know about both of them.

The shoutbox at the top of the forums uses AJAX. Some browsers aren't made to be compatable with AJAX, Safari and Konqueror are two of them. The reason why is because they use khtml.

Is the shoutbox stretching across your page or just wanting to be a pest and be huge? If it is it's probably how it's interacting with your browser. I'm guessing you're using Konqueror since that's a Linux browser.

The only thing I can say is that until something changes with the way the browser is made, you can collapse the box that the shoutbox is contained in and it should stay collapsed until you open it again. I would recommend to collapse the box and only open it when you want to check the shoutbox messages.

The chatroom itself is all done in flash, or it should be. I'm not familiar with Linux so I will have to search around to help get you an answer. Are you experiencing problems right now or just asking for future reference? If you're having problems will you give me a detailed explanation so I can search for the answer?

Hopefully that helped, if I'm way off base here let me know and I'll try to find the answer to your question.

Nah. Just wondering. I probably won't participate in the chat much. Linux has some problems with it. It is no big deal though. You notice that I made an unofficial IRC for Braves.Net.

I like IRC the best. It is alright though.
