Yeah, I mean its not like he was a no-name player, he had a great season this year. This should serve as a lesson to people, its probably not the brightest idea to leave a nightclub in the ghetto in a white hummer limo. The Lidle incident is what came to my mind as well, heck ESPN has the rose bowl as the main story, with knight's 880 wins and nfl coach firings as bigger stories

I'm with you on the fact we shouldn't think everyone is going to get a huge memorial or anything, but he's an athlete, and a good one at that. If they devoted an entire day to Cory Lidle, what's keeping them from doing that with Darrent Williams.

Neither of these men made a huge impact on their sport, but the only thing that keeps ESPN from talking much about it is the New York media bias.

That's all that should be said, not debating whether or not he is deserving of the treatment. Fact is, if Williams isn't, neither was Lidle ... but we all saw that.

I'm not banning anyone over a difference of opinion, that's what this is here for. I will ban someone if they cross the line and it seems like they are posting things just to get under the skin of others. That's trolling in my book, which is not allowed here. Well its fine to have a different opinion, but it seems like you don't care that a person is dead. This guy had a trip planned, not for a girlfriend or whatever, to his hometown to talk to kids about not using drugs and gangs. This was a great person, and I would expect sme remorse when someone dies. That is sick if that is what you truly think. Totally sick.

I saw that hotcorner...and ESPN did run it as their top story on the late edition of sportscenter. Perhaps they were waiting for more details, but they did run it ahead of Knight & the other stories.

A very sad, disappointing story.
