What do you guys think of the incident and the suspensions?
- I think most of the suspensions are pretty good, but I think Nate Robinson should have gotten more for being such an instigator with his Napoleon Complex
- A lot of people are complaining where is Isiah Thomas' punishment as he started the whole thing by threatening Nuggets to not enter the lane and probably telling his players to foul hard, but I think its pretty obvious and David Stern knows this Thomas' punishment IS coaching the Knicks

Here's the problem I have with it. Melo deserved to be suspended, and deserved a lengthy one, but even though he threw the punch, I don't think it's fair that he got 5 more games than anyone else. Collins started it all by throwing Smith down. They got up in each others face, and then it was over until little Nate comes in starting it all up again.
The problem with the suspensions is they're penalizing Carmelo for being the star player in it all. They figure that his suspension will carry more weight around the league, so there you have it.
I'm just not sure how Collins can only get 6 games, when Smith got 10. Hell, if someone wrapped me around the neck and threw me down, I'd be pissed to.
Don't you get 1 game for a flagarent 2 foul anyway? If that's not a flagerent 2, I don't know what is. That means Collins only got 5 for his participation in the fight...

I am just disgusted by the suspension. I don't care who threw a punch. If you are getting grabbed around the neck.. umm isn't it kind of delf-defense to throw a punch. I hope David Stern watches the tape and learns something.

Great suspensions. 'Melo acting like the punk he is...not much of a surprise. J.R. Smith was looking to impress his fans in the Garden and got taken down hard. Be pissed...but control yourself. I agree with Thomas that Karl put his players out there (they had what...four starters on the court in a 20 point game?). Now, that hard foul was probably the bad way of going about it, but both teams had their share of stupidity. 'Melo was just the most stupid.

Thomas is the one who should have got suspended...

I don't think you can suspend Thomas without suspending Karl for running up the score in the first place.

It was only 20 points. They had been blowing leads a lot. As a basketball fanatic, and one with a coach's mind on the game, I don't know if I can fault him for leaving those guys in.
It's not like Thomas had completely thrown in the towel. David Lee, Jared Jeffries and Nate Washington were all on the floor. It's not like they had emptied the bench.

In 1:30, you're going to blow a 20 point lead?
Really, no one was right in this situation and everyone was wrong.

Well, you're right that everyone was in the wrong, but sometimes as a coach you have to swallow your pride and say we're done. If he still had Robinson, Lee and Jeffries on the floor that wasn't waving the white flag.
Now, he should have been playing their 1st round pick. THAT would be waving the flag.

Robinson only averages 20 minutes and Jeffries was playing in his fourth game of the season so I don't see any point they needed to be out of the game. The white flag could have been by looking up at the scoreboard. One of the Yahoo guys pointed out Karl's connection to Larry Brown and believes that Karl was trying to embarrass Thomas. Well, he did, but he also embarrassed himself.

Latrell Sprewell got 68 games (years before the brawl in Detroit) for punching his coach in the face... Melo got off easy...
