WEEK 2, GAME 1
Tennessee @ UCLA
September 1, 2008
Heading into the season opener, Tennessee has big questions about their defensive line and at the quarterback position. Jonathon Crompton is ready to take over, however. Tennessee should be able to slowly wear down UCLA, though, with their power running game behind a stout offensive line.
FIRST QUARTER
Tennessee wins the coin toss, and decides that they want the ball first. Josh Briscoe brings the ball to the 36, and the offense takes over. Tennessee has trouble running the ball at first, with UCLA's speedy linebackers swarming Arian Foster. Crompton's pass to Lucas Taylor is tipped at the line, and a defensive end from UCLA comes up with it, and they take over at their 30 yard line. UCLA converts on a 3rd and 1 with a pass to their tight end, and UT's defense is struggling with stopping the pass. 2 plays later, UCLA scores on a counter left play where UT's linebackers got sucked in because they didn't stay at home. The PAT is good, and the score is 7-0 Bruins. Briscoe makes another good return, and UT takes over at the 36 again. Another pass is tipped, and UCLA capitalizes on another mistake and takes over at their 38. Tennessee is able to 3 and out UCLA this time. Tennessee takes over at their own 12 yard line. Crompton connects with Taylor on a quick seam pattern, and Lucas runs for days.. Give.. Him.. SIX!!! PAT is good, and the game is knotted at 7. A touchdown is saved when the kicker makes the tackle, and UCLA takes over at the 50.
2ND QUARTER
UCLA marches down the field, but Wes Brown comes up big when he sacks UCLA's QB to make it a long 3rd and goal from the 18. The Vols hold strong, and limit the Bruins to a FG. 10-7 UCLA. Austin Rogers brings the ball to the 24, and Crompton and company come back on the field. Crompton hooks up with Briscoe on a long 3rd down pass, though, and Tennessee is able to extend the drive. Foster is able to get some daylight, and busts a 17 yard run. Crompton converts an important 3rd down on a hitch to Taylor, and the Vols continue to march down the field. Crompton gets hit when he throws 3 plays later, though, and UCLA returns the pick for a touchdown. PAT good.. Bruins 17, Vols.. 7.
3RD QUARTER
UCLA brings the ball out to the 30 on the kickoff. The Vols defense is able to three and out the Bruins, and their offense takes over at the their 17 yard line. Crompton hooks up with Briscoe on two big 3rd down passes, and UCLA is flagged for roughing the passer on the 2nd. Tennessee has a fresh set of down on UCLA's 35. The Vols are penalized for holding, and face a touch challenge - 2nd and 21 on the Bruins' 46. Crompton is picked off on YET ANOTHER tipped pass, and it's obvious that he's struggling. The Bruins take over on Tennessee's 45. Tennessee stops them, though, and UCLA is forced to punt. Tennessee BLOCKS it, though! They took over at UCLA's 46. Crompton is picked off on an ill-advised pass, though - but a vol knocks the ball lose and UT gets a fresh set of downs. Tennessee marches it down to the 8, and the third quarter ends.
4TH QUARTER
Crompton is picked off AGAIN at UCLA's one yard line. Demonte Bolden breaks through the line on the first play, though, and stops UCLA's runningback in his own endzone. UCLA 17, UT 9. Brett Vinson returns the safety punt 78 yards for the TD, and the momentum has swung! PAT is good, and the score is tied at 16. (I wasn't thinking, should have gone for two - i know.. ) Big Dan Williams sacks the QB on the first play, and it is now 2nd and 16. Bolden breaks through the line on 3rd and 15, and sacks the QB for the 2nd time this drive. UCLA is forced to punt. UT takes over at their 41 with 3:13 left. Arian Foster converts a HUGE 4th down, and Tennessee has 1st and down at the Bruins' 46. Arian Foster then breaks a 13 yard run, and Tennessee is rolling. The Vols convert another 3rd down on a FB dive, and it's first and down on the 22. Tennessee brings the ball down to the 11 yard line, with 2 seconds left.. A timeout is called, and the FG team comes on the field. Daniel Lincoln connects on the gamewinning field goal, and the VOLS WIN 19-17.

On the 360, it's pretty simple to get rosters. Anyone with the 360 and NCAA, just add my gamertag (McCarroll21) on XBL and I'll hook you up with rosters.

Week 3, Game 2
UAB @ Tennessee
September 13, 2008
Tennessee plays host to the University of Alabama-Birmingham in their home opener. UAB comes into this game 1-1, having a runningback who has already rushed for 247 yards in 2 games. Tennessee, however, is not worried about UAB because they see the Blazers as a warmup for the Florida Gators. According to the game, UAB is ranked 90th whereas the Vols are ranked 17th in the nation.
FIRST QUARTER
Tennessee elects to recieve the opening kickoff. Austin Rogers brings the ball ot the 25, and Jonathon Crompton leads his troops onto the field. He hopes to have a better showing than his previous against UCLA, where he threw 6 interceptions. Arian Foster starts the game off with a 75 yard counter-left run, and the Vols strike quickly. PAT is good, and the score is Tennessee - 7, UAB - nothing. UAB quickly completes a play action pass for first down. A big play is stopped when Rico McCoy makes a big play by stopping a UAB reciever on an end around. The UAB drive is ended 1 play later when Elix Wilson snuffs out a HB draw to make it 4th and 2. The Vols offense takes over at their own 23 yard line. Arian Foster breaks another huge run, this time gaining 24 yards. Crompton connects two plays later for a 17 yard gain on a PA Bootleg. He then connects on a 3rd down pass to Lucas Taylor. Foster then powers his way down to the one yard line on a draw. He then barrells into the endzone on the next play. PAT is good, Vols 14, Blazers 0. Demonte Bolden muscles his way through a double team on 3rd and 12, and introduces himself to the UAB QB.
2ND QUARTER
UAB is forced to punt, and Austin Rogers brings the ball back to UT's 43. Crompton connects with Rogers on a big 3rd down play for 34 yards, and the Vols continue to march down the field. Crompton's pass up the middle to Taylor is tipped, though, and UAB comes up with the pick. They take over on their 20 yard line. UAB continues to have problems running the ball, as Dan Williams and friends stop the runningback 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Elix makes a good play to tackle the scrambling QB, and the Blazers are forced to punt again. Rogers calls for a fair catch at the UT 20. Crompton connects with Rogers again, this time for 26 yards. Crompton then connects with a 20 yard pass to Lucas Taylor on 3rd down to extend the drive. He is then picked off the next play on a crossing pattern. That extends his interception total to 8, which probably leads all of NCAA, NFL, High School, and Pop Warner. Robert Ayers sacks the UAB quarterback on the next play, though, to get the crowd fired up again. The Blazers try a Hail Mary, but Eric Berry swats it down to end the First Half.
3RD QUARTER
The Blazer offense takes over at the 26 yard line. UAB converts a big 3rd down when their QB hooks up with their TE for a 17 yard gain. Wes Brown clobbers the UAB QB 2 plays later to force a fumble, and Demonte Bolden falls on the ball. UT takes over at the 50 yard line. Crompton connects big on a 3rd down pass to Lucas Taylor, and the Vols are back in business at UAB's 36. The Vols can't do much after that, though, as Crompton is sacked and they're forced to punt. The Blazers take over on their 20 yard line. Adam Myers-White intercepts a screen pass 2 plays later, and brings it back to the UAB 8. Foster punches it in on his third try, and scores his third touchdown of the game. PAT is good, UT - 21, UAB - 0. The Blazers take over at their 23. Robert Ayers hits the QB hard and makes him cough up the ball on 3rd down, and the Vols offense takes over at the UAB 34.
4TH QUARTER
Arian Foster takes the team on his back and marches down to the 2 yard line on 5 carries. The Vols are unable to punch it in, though, and they're forced to kick the FG. Lincoln's kick is good, and the score is 24-0 Tennessee. UAB is picked off by Brett Vinson when they try to go for it on 4th down, and the Vols offense comes back on the field, taking over at the 40 yard line. Tennessee enters its "burn the clock" mode, simply handing the ball off to Foster and letting him do his thing. They are stopped at UAB's 20 yardline, though, and Daniel Lincoln sets up for another field goal. The kicks is good, and the scored is Tennessee - 27, UAB - 20. The Blazers take over at their 23. Myers-White comes up big with his 2nd interception of the game, and Tennessee has 1st and ten at UAB's 20. The Vols simply run the clock out on a couple of Foster carries, and they end the game with a score of Tennessee - 27, UAB - 0.
Key Stats
J. Crompton - 6 for 13, 130 yards, 2 interceptions
A. Foster - 184 yards on 29 attempts, 3 TD's, with a long run of 75 yards.
L. Taylor - 60 yards on 3 catches
E. Wilson - 8 tackles
