Atlanta's Chipper Jones earned a $2 million salary increase to $10 million next year because he was elected. His contract contains a complicated points provision for various honors, and his 2009 pay could increase to $11 million depending on postseason awards this year.

Right now I'm trying to find out what's acceptable from this point forward with Jeff so at the end of the season (if he's still here) I can look at July 8 to the end and see how things shake out. I'm going to compare March 30 to July 3 and then July 8 to the end and see if he actually saw improvement and if he did if that second segment is good enough for Jeff to still be in our lineup in 2009.

I'm going to look at all the rate stats. AVG, OBP, SLG and, of course, OPS and see if it's good enough and if it is good, was it aided by a high BAbip like his previous good average seasons or is it legit.

That's what I'm thinking. Hopefully KJ and Yunel are as good as we think they are. When we have guys like Chipper, Mac, Teix, KJ, and Yunel in the lineup we should be producing a lot more than we are. I'm not even bringing Frenchy into the conversation.
