Let's close out June with a win and some Interleague success! Jo-Jo gets to face a very weak lineup today with Eckstein, Scutaro and McDonald in there together. Let's go Jo-Jo! Bounce back from that last start and do your thing. Give us 7 strong!

In other news, Mets fans on BN North are referring to Johan Santana as the Venezuelan Vagina.

Of all the players to use at the DH, they chose to use the light hitting Eckstein, that's like chosing Blanco to DH when we have our normal outfield.

Please, someone tell me again why Santana has so far been well worth it and why we really aren't seeing a slightly better and ridiculously more expensive version of Tom Glavine?

poor, poor BN North. it wasn't long ago that they were the best team in the world because they added Santana.

The last time he pitched poorly like that (Arizona) he bounced back by throwing a gem at Milwaukee.

BJones

McCarroll21

I'm guessing BJones gets sent out Tuesday if Kotsay is coming up and they need to call up an infielder (likely D. Hernandez) with Infante going to the DL.

McCarroll21
06-29-2008, 02:30 PM
With the way Frank is talking I could see Chip DL'd.
There's no way the DL him if he can hit. He's been used so much you wouldn't be able to backdate him very much. If they DL anyone, it'll be Infante because they can afford to lose him for two weeks. If they DL Yunel or Chipper and they're ready the next day, you lose something of great use for almost two weeks.

brnt247
06-29-2008, 02:31 PM
Infante's injury I believe is more serious than Yunel's or Chipper's.

This is what I see as far as roster moves:

Activate Kotsay, option BJones.
Disable Infante, purchase D. Hernandez.

If Chipper's not ready, they'll play Hernandez at 3B. If Yunel's not ready, Lillibridge remains at short. Blanco to LF with Kotsay in CF.

If Kelly's as sick as they say he is, I would have had him bat second with McCann batting third. If he's feeling that weak, he's not going to do much in terms of power so let him use his plate discipline to set up McCann-Teixeira batting in the middle of the order.

Here's the problem:
- We've scored 0 runs today
- We have a guy at shortstop who's batting average is barely enough to play at the AAA level.
- There are no bench players aside from Corky Miller. (As if he even counts).

I don't understand why either Infante, Chipper or Yunel hasn't gone on the DL. What happens if someone gets hurt now? Will a pitcher have to fill the position? Where's Chris Resop when you need him lol.
