Giddy up!
Brewers-Braves Preview
The Milwaukee Brewers have never had an easy time scoring runs on the road against the Atlanta Braves, so the only way to compensate for that is with outstanding pitching. That formula has been working well for the Brewers, who have a chance to sweep a series at Atlanta for the first time in their history when the teams conclude a three-game set Wednesday. Milwaukee (43-34) is 14-22 all-time at Atlanta, averaging just 3.72 runs per game. Four runs are all the Brewers have been able to muster in each of the first two games of this series, but they have held the Braves (38-41) to a total of four.

Braves: Campillo was hit hard by the Mariners on Friday night, allowing four runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings. He took the loss, his second of the season. Campillo exited in the seventh after allowing the go-ahead run to score and two baserunners to reach base. The 29-year-old right-hander allowed four doubles, and five others reached the warning track. Campillo hasn't won since May 29, which coincidentally came against the Brewers. In that start, he allowed one run on four hits in five innings.

Brewers: Suppan had his shortest start in 10 years, as he didn't make it out of the second inning against the Orioles on Friday. The first three batters of the game singled, eight Orioles came to the plate and four runs scored in the inning. Suppan notched two outs in the top of the second inning, but was knocked out of the game when two more runs scored and he walked the bases loaded. The right-hander ended up with a final line of six runs on seven hits, with two walks and one strikeout in 1 1/3 innings.

Francoeur's a power hitter? His slugging percentage is one of the worst on the team (only Yunel is worse among qualifiers). KJ is best suited to bat third, he's Chipper-lite.

He's correct. The difference in Francoeur and Perry right now would be minimal. Perry would have to platoon with someone though. Perry/Jones or Perry/Norton in the outfield would look better right now than Francoeur. Jeff's in a vicious cycle right now where the only thing he can do is experience more failure. He needs to be put in a spot to succeed and right now that's not here.

Not if McDonald was playing, that guy might be the best infielder in the game. At least he is hitting line drives, if he keeps hitting it hard, he'll start producing some doubles and extra base hits.

They may be tough to watch but damn if you don't know we're all going to watch them again Friday regardless of today (assuming we're in a spot we can). Be frustrated all you want, but most of us here block off three hours a day to watch them play. If you're still doing that, it can't be too bad.

If you're going to bitch about the AL getting homefield because of the All-Star game but say it should be based on Interleague instead, what the hell does it solve?
Yeah, home field going to the winner of the all-star is a joke, but basing it on Interleague play will give you the same result so quit your bitchin!
I like giving it to the winner of interleague games, at least it's won in real games, where people can put and keep their best people on the field.
Personally I would like to see Interleague be every other year. Even the Yanks playing the Mets has lost something. Make it every other year.
In the non-IL years, i'd like to see the fans, players, managers, etc elect team members but have the two highest vote getters set the lineup. Essentially it's a pick up game. That could be fun.
And in the IL years, you do US vs. the World.

Really?
I used to care about those being outside of NY, but now it's "eh." But it's all about the attendance.
At this point it's just jarring. "oh we're playing the Blue Jays next." Why? Is it really a treat for Toronto to see the Braves play this year? If you do it every other year, in theory it keeps it fresh and you can promote to your home base the teams you'll be seeing more.

I see what you mean, for most teams playing an AL team is just like playing a team from another division. None of it is that big of a deal, but for the cities that have 2 teams or states that have 2 teams it's a pretty big deal.

Yeah.
I think its time to tweak the setup. The games have to mean something. Put homefield on them, then at least it's a seasonal build-up. In theory, the AS game winner, or IL winner is really no more random than just rotating on a year basis but to me it's not the AS game that has to be fixed its the bulk of the IL games.

Why take Campillo out in this situation? I don't think he was even at 100 pitches yet, and had only allowed one hit in the last 5 innings.
