Their lineup is correct; I'm not sure about ours. For our lineup I just based it off our lineup from yesterday but put Yunel back in there at short and batting second, with Infante sliding over to third and put him where Gotay was. I'm sure Jeff will be in there, though his career against Sheets says he shouldn't be.

timmy

I hope this is our lineup, I like the look of it. I think Jeff getting HBP helps more than his OBP.

let's hope that JoJo can repeat what he did against the brew crew earlier this year.. except maybe we'll get a few runs to help him.

Escobar’s in lineup tonight. Told me he’s a little sore, but not much. He’s ready to play.
Kotsay iffy for trip to Toronto. He wants to go, but Cox doesn’t think he should run around on the turf. Either way, he’s probably not going to be activated until the next homestand, and might do a rehab assignment (that hasn’t been determined)….
Nothing new on Soriano. “It’s still sore,” Cox said….
Chipper’s first day of progress, but he’s still not ready to play. Cox said he can hopefully DH in Toronto. Probably going to miss this whole series….
Francoeur is trying a new contact lens on his right eye only. His vision in that eye isn’t perfect since he was hit by the ball in the minors, and the doctor told him a contact lens might help him at night, that it’s worth a try.
Francoeur thinks that might be part of reason he’s hit .320 with five homers in 26 day games, compared to .207 with three homers in 50 night games.
As he said, he’ll try anything at this point.

Interesting on Francoeur, him and Mark are dominate during day games, but suck at night.

Yeah, I'm sure the eye is a reason, Jeff.

2007
Day - .273/.303/.390 - .693
Night - .301/.351/.466 - .817

I guess the lighting was different last year?

Maybe the eye only bothers him when he's swinging at crappy pitches and grounding out to short or third all the damn time?

One of the hotter teams in the league with their best pitcher going and we're without Chipper...Definitely wouldn't be surprised to lose this one. Hopefully Jo-Jo can recreate his last outting against them.

McCarroll21
06-23-2008, 07:12 PM
With all the success Sheets has had against us, we have to get to him sometime. Let's Brandon Webb him!

brnt247
06-23-2008, 07:12 PM
This is the biggest test for Jo-Jo in my opinion. If he performs well tonight, he'll have won me over. This team is all right handed except for Fielder, and those bats are very very good. I'd take Corey Hart on the Braves any day of the week.

What an optimistic way of thinking.

Swap Francoeur with Jones and the lineup is perfect. Although, with Sheets on the mound, it may not matter where they hit.

After doing some research, I think Corey Hart is exactly what we thought we were getting with Francoeur. Minus a bit of power, plus a bit of speed.

Yup, sounds like Andruw's allergy excuse. I'm sorry but any major league hitter should be able to lay off some of those pitches even if one eye is COMPLETELY blind.

hahaha he really does but since this is a baseball forum I shouldn't post um some of his other stuff. The one he does on commercialism is pretty good. I think that's it. He just goes through all of the shit they try to say while getting you to buy stuff. Like 2 for 1, call in the next 30 minutes and we'll cut the price in half, etc, etc, etc....

Carlin made his name with a routine called, "7 Words You Can't Say on TV." This was before Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, and ... uh, cable.

Carlin did a routine on Johnny Carson once where he just stood there for five minutes and said nothing. It didn't go over very well, and his career suffered after that.

I think we have the most two-faced team in baseball....how do they go from completely mashing the ball like they did yesterday and saturday to absolutely sucking and looking horrendous tonight? (I mean, I know Sheets pitched, but still, they looked absolutely horrid tonight.)

I think you answered your own question there. We faced Ben Sheets, one of the best pitchers in baseball. Just gotta tip your cap to him for getting the job done.

That's just it. There's a HUGE difference between Carlos Silva and the Mariners bullpen from Ben Sheets.

Don't be silly guys. Ben Sheets isn't that good. I mean, I'd draft Carlos Silva in my fantasy league LONG before drafting Sheets.

Just gotta win the next two and take the series. It's one game at a time, one series at a time. We got beat by a good pitcher tonight. Tomorrow and Thursday we get to face pitchers of lesser quality. Let's just hope we get it done against them and our pitchers give us a chance to win.

Go Braves! :)
