Only one RH in the lineup, has to be the first time we've done that this season. We have 4 switch hitters on our team, that's a lot lol.
McCarroll21
06-22-2008, 01:31 PM
Good lineup. Best team we could throw out there considering the injuries to Chipper and Yunel.
Get some BJones and 643 is sitting. Sounds good to me.

06-22-2008, 01:32 PM
You're right Mac that knuckle needs rest
brnt247
06-22-2008, 01:34 PM
Good to see Mac toughing it out and going day after night, we need his bat in there. Getting Yunel and Chipper a day of rest is pretty big. This lineup isn't terrible, and if we can get some momentum from last night and carry it into the Brewer series it would be really big. Jo-Jo vs. the Brewers kind of scares me, those righties can hit. Hopefully he will continue being effective tomorrow.
McCarroll21
06-22-2008, 01:37 PM
We have two of our best three hitters out of the lineup and our lineup completely owns theirs. No Lopez, Beltre, Sexson in the lineup; replaced with Bloomquist, Cairo and Vidro? Now, if this were 1997 and Vidro was in the lineup, it'd be one thing, but in 2008, Vidro doesn't strike fear in anyone ... especially batting cleanup.
JCStone7
06-22-2008, 01:38 PM
I was hoping to see Infante at 3B and Lillibridge at SS today.
brnt247
06-22-2008, 01:41 PM
Gotay has done well, I'd take his bat over Lilli's right now. It isn't the time to get Brent a few starts with our lineup so different. I'd like to see him get a start to spell Yunel in the Brewer series if Chipper is back though.
McCarroll21
06-22-2008, 01:42 PM
Gotay's actually hitting from his good side today. I'd be disappointed if Yunel was out and Gotay wasn't at 3B today. If Yunel were in there, I'd like to see Infante at 3B over Gotay but I'd be pissed if we had Gotay at 3B two days against a lefty and then missed our chance to let him get a handful of at-bats batting left handed.

Probably strikes fear in their starter. He knows he probably needs to throw a shutout.

Agreed. Where's their power bats? They don't exist. They used to say Ichiro could hit 25-30 HR if he wanted to be that type of player. For this type of lineup he probably should try that.

If the Braves hold their lead (4-0 as I write) and the Phillies-Angels score remains, the Braves will be four games back of first place.
Furthermore, on this date in 2004, the Braves were five below .500 (32-37)...and we somehow made the playoffs that year.
So it ain't time to throw in the towel.
