You should always have a border on sigs, it just makes them look better than when they don't have one. I'd also recommend keeping the text simple until you really get it down (probably the hardest thing abot making sigs). Having 4 different text types in 3 different colors can be too much.

Thanks alot, what do I use to put a border on it?

What are you using? On GIMP, the easiest way is to go to
filters-> decor-> add border to make a simple 1 pixel border.

I think it looks pretty good other than the text. You're really good at cropping out the players

I just zoom in to about 400 and erase.

It's a lot better, but I'd move Reyes over to cover the Utley pic on the scoreboard

Yeah good idea.

Looks good. The next thing you might want to experiment with is making duplicate layers of your background or duplicates of the layer Reyes is on and then messing around with the different merging options. It really helps the whole signature blend together if it's done right.
The merging options are in the drop down box on the layers window (overlay, dodge, grain merge, etc).

Thanks I will, very new to this, want to get good.
Some things I put together, please give more tips...

For just being a week into this stuff, you're pretty good.
We really need to get you some better fonts though. The text on a signature is the hardest part, sometimes you're better off without it because it can kill everything.

I've looked everywhere and can't find how to import Fonts into GIMP.

I'm pretty sure you just install them on your computer and they'll show up in GIMP. If you're on XP, it's Start > Control Panel > Fonts > File > Install New Font.
