Kelly's 3-for-13 against Olsen, so I'm not too upset by him sitting tonight. Maybe tomorrow against the righty, we'll see Blanco move to leadoff and Infante start at short to give Yunel a day off.
I still think it's dumb to bat Jeff ahead of McCann, regardless of the pitcher.
Let's rock Olsen tonight to start a sweep of the Fish! GO BRAVES!

why don't they put Josh Anderson in for Norton.
If they're not going to let Kelly hit against the lefty, they certainly aren't going to let Anderson.
What has Norton done to fall on his face, anyway? I'm not saying he should be out there every day, but it's not like he's killing us right now. For the good of the team, he needs to be on the bench, but today's not one of them.

Hopefully Richmond Reyes is still pitching tonight. Richmond Reyes did pretty well in Milwaukee!
Wow, Kelly was one of the few consistent hitters on the road trip, and he gets sat against Olsen, give me a break.

Usually if he has a good first inning he is goin to have a good night
If he locates the fastball like he did in Milwaukee, he should be fine. I'm more worried about run support. He could've thrown a Perfect game his last start and got a No Decision.
brnt247
06-02-2008, 07:46 PM
First time we face a lefty in over a week. Run support could very well be a problem.

My first Braves game was a Smoltz close too. Totally shut down the Expos....good times, good times.

I really don't like this line-up, here's mine:
1) Blanco CF
2) Escobar SS
3) Jones 3B
4) Teixeira 1B
5) McCann C
6) Johnson 2B
7) Francoeur RF
8) Anderson LF
9) Reyes P
By replacing Norton with Anderson, we can't possibly have anything to lose...I wanna give Anderson a shot and see what he can offer at the big league level. Blanco would finally give us some speed at the top of the lineup, while Esco can return to his #2 hole where's been hitting better. I have no idea why Francoeur would be batting ahead of McCann...maybe it's cuz of the individual stats again Olson? Who knows. Anyways, let's win this one!

I think Raffy is the closer right now. Him and Gonzo will share the role and Smoltzy is going to be used as needed for some big K's, kind of like a "bullpen ace" if you will. Of course it all depends on if his shoulder holds up.

This isn't really relevent to what you said, but I read in Baseball America that many minor league teams are trying to move into Richmond since we plan to move the AAA club to Gwinett next year. Should be interesting, we haven't even finished the stadium yet and they're already set to move them there.

We barely fill our stadium 1/4 of the way most nights, are people really gonna go to gwinett and see a AAA game?
EDIT: AAA is a thing of the past anyways, the real stars are in A and AA now a days.

I don't think it's a move for income, more a move that makes it easier to get the AAA callups to the stadium.
