Why the heck is Miller in the game when we're desperate for offense? I know its a day game after a night game but C'mon Bobby don't be stupid. We need our 2nd best hitter out there when it's a must win game to avoid another road sweep. That's just ridiculous to let Miller start today.
I don't like Norton in LF either. I'd rather have Gotay out there or Infante again. Norton is a TERRIBLE outfielder. Oh well though I pray we get the offense going early and give Campillo a handfull of runs to work with. Three runs scored in two days just aint gonna cut it.
Let's go Braves!

THey just had to show that Gant play didnt they? Man, that play still pisses me off even today. That ump was and still is a complete moron.
I agree with Chipper. Replay on anything the manager wants but limit it to one replay per game. If they get it right they still have that replay but if they get it wrong they dont get another one that game.

05-29-2008, 01:54 PM
With Mac out I'd really like KJ to bat 5th and Blanco up in one of the top 2.
Is B. Jones active?

Is B. Jones active?I think yesterday was just precautionary.
So Kotsay out again...why dont they DL the guy already and call up B.Jones...It's not so much Kotsay going to the DL. If he's feeling better, he needs to stay on the roster. We should send out a pitcher and call up an outfielder, though.
What happened to McCann?Off day.

is corky campillos personal catcher or is that just a coincidence.
Jsh1284
05-29-2008, 02:04 PM
Coincidence .. it's a day game after a night game. Starting catchers usually get the day game off in this situation.
McCarroll21
05-29-2008, 02:05 PM
Probably just coincidence. Campillo's starts have been in a double header and two day game after night games. There may be more to it, but I lean toward coincidence until more concrete evidence is there.

McCarroll21
05-29-2008, 02:16 PM
I'd have rather had Norton bat second and Kelly bat fifth today. Norton has done a good job taking pitches and working the count; Kelly's been raking. Seems obvious to me.
Of course, Blanco-Escobar at 1-2 would be my lineup but since Bobby has a hard-on for Escobar at leadoff, I'd go Escobar-Norton.
Maybe that's just me.
Jsh1284
05-29-2008, 02:16 PM
Gah way to kill the rally Norton. All you had to do was hit it to the outfield and its a whole different inning. There goes a golden opportunity.

05-29-2008, 02:29 PM
Probably just coincidence. Campillo's starts have been in a double header and two day game after night games. There may be more to it, but I lean toward coincidence until more concrete evidence is there.
One of the announcers (in Campillo's second start I think) said that Bobby wanted to go with Miller because he and Campillo worked well together the first time. He could have just been speculating though.

That would have had to be a Fox announcer. Wouldn't buy it off their word alone lol
It may end up being that, but it just seems too coincidental to me right now.

Grounder between first and second that took Feilder out of the play. Weeks tossed to pitcher covering and kind of floated it. Ball, McClung and Teixeira all got to first at the same time. McClung had to jump for it and Teixeira ran through him. They both hit the ground.

When Corky is catching, batters are hitting .192/.301/.282 against our staff. When McCann's behind the plate, .244/.316/.386. That's where the value resides in a backup catcher.

Those are numbers I was unaware of, and can obviously respect. Thank you for the light, that will make things a little more bearable.
I've always just had an abnormal amount of disdain towards back up catchers, and unrightfully so. I know their role as well as anyone it's just so painful to watch when Bryan is such a central figure in the lineup.
