I probably won't be able to watch this one. I'll be following on XM though. Because my market doesn't allow directv to give us local channels, my Fox networks are out of NYC and LA. The Mets and Angels are both playing Fox games today, so I'll get both of those on Fox instead of the Braves.

Today's start by Randy Johnson is his first at The Ted since the perfect game. Johnson hasn't had a shutout since then.

Looks like a good crowd gathering...largest BP crowd I remember seening this year. Should be a fun one today.

Awh man we've got our Split Squad B team lineup out there today. I would've liked to see Kotsay out there instead of Blanco, too. I don't know why Bobby thinks Blanco could hit Johnson better than Mark. That's pretty strange. Plus Mc is swinging a good bat. Even with a lefty on the mound, Mc can outproduce anything Miller can give us. He could outhit Miller even if RJ was still throwing 100+ actually. Oh well. Let's touch this guy up with some early runs and keep on piling them on. We need to even up this series so Glav and Jair can try to get us a comeback series win and give us a shot in the arm for the upcoming road trip!

Go offense, and go get em Jorge!

I do but they black out the national Fox telecasts. It's all good. I can listen on XM and it'll probably be just one of a few times during the year that the Fox lineup costs me a game. I'll live. :)

----

We won behind Jorge with our "B lineup" last time, too. Last time Kelly was in but Yunel wasn't. We'll be okay. I kind of figured it'd be more odd than this and Gotay would be at second with Omar in CF to get all righties in the lineup vs. The Unit.

On the bright side, we have one hell of a bench today and all the "useful" arms in the pen got last night off.

Jsh1284
05-24-2008, 04:02 PM
True enough. I hope the balls look like big units aka beachballs coming out of Johnson's hand. I don't want to see a nailbiter today, I want us to get on top early and cruse through this game to even the series. Just want to sit back, relax, and watch a nice afternoon of Braves baseball with a nice lead. If they do that for me today I'll be extremely pleased. =D

Why is Corky batting ahead of anyone?

Jsh1284
05-24-2008, 04:10 PM
I was wondering that too. Surely Bobby dosen't think he can hit better than Blanco, right? If he does I'm gonna have to start calling him Booby again.

I guess it's because he's a righty though. Blanco is the only lefty bat in the lineup so it makes sense to bat him 8th I guess. Then again Campillo is a righty too. If we're using that logic and are batting lesser hitters higher in the order just cause they swing it from the right side, then Campillo should hit 7th, Corky 8th and Blanco 9th because we all know Jorge can outhit Corky =D

McCarroll21

It's weird but he's been batting above Blanco every time they've both been in the lineup, I believe.

Saturday baseball is horrible. FOX needs to stop broadcasting games.
They need to just go back to a 1:00 start time. 3:55 is the most stupid start time, ever. Baseball stadiums aren't built to take on a game at 3:55. Just look at the shadows cast on Turner Field when the game starts.

They're talking about activating Soriano tomorrow. They're using today as a "day off" and targeting tomorrow for his return. Not real news as that should be the given, but just figured I'd pass it along.

Josh Hamilton with 53 RBI's? Man, it sure would be nice if we would've went after him for left field. You know we could have gotten him with ease.

Jair getting no love from fox even though he's having a better season than most of those guys they just showcased.

LOL Kennedy sure does think a lot of himself. "He learned how to call a good game, handle a pitching staff 'blablabla' .... because of me *under his breath*" .. what an obnoxious prick .. heh. Yeah, Piazza had such a good career because of you, dude. Let's just forget the fact that he was a terrible defensive catcher and you're trying to say you taught him everything he knew about catching. XD

McCarroll21

Hamilton is just 3 points off Joe Mauer's average from being the AL Triple Crown leader.

Well, he's tied with 12 homers, leading with 53 RBIs and .003 behind Mauer for the average.

Piazza is an awesome defensive catcher. He just couldn't throw worth a damn and that's what everyone remembers. He's like Brian McCann right now, not that great at throwing out runners but awesome at handling a staff and all the pitchers love throwing to him.

They're very good. I know Mark Grace is normally very good when on Fox. They know that they have to be a little different when on Fox than when on their FSN station.

Here's to Campillo doing the damn thing in Atlanta and Francis getting it done in the Rockies.

Jorge Campillo doesn't get the outside strike a couple inches off the plate.
