I think we're all on the same page with the streak in that it doesn't matter, but if he appears just to appear to keep the streak, that'll piss me off. I don't like how they're making it out to be that Jorge has never started before and it's completely new to him. It's only new to him on the major league level.

He started 22 of 24 games last year in the minors with Tacoma and 9 of 10 games in 2006 after comeing back from Tommy John. He started 16 of 16 games in 2005 in the minors.

It's not new to him, it's just that he hasn't done it in the majors.

I don't like it. McCann's value is him behind the plate calling games. Sure he's got a great bat and catching takes him out of the lineup, but putting him at first base kills everything.

Now, if Sammons is the backup and McCann goes to 1B on his "off days," that's a different story.

All this said, Sammons is doing everything he should have to do right now to be our backup. He's a better defensive catcher than Miller and he's hitting the ball pretty well at Triple-A.
