Lineups are guesswork right now. I used the standings at the bottom instead of the accuscore because the double header screws it up a little. It'll just say, "the simulation is still going on for this game."

I'm thinking this will be the only time you see the standings today. I'm not going to want to updated them for the next game. We'll just end the gamethread with the pitchers and tomorrow pick back up with the Accuscore.

This was from Rosenthal’s latest column:
A scout says of Braves right fielder Jeff Francouer: “I don’t think he’s going to be the player that everyone, including me, thought he would be. His strike zone is poor. He hasn’t made any adjustments, any gains in how he can get to the pitch he wants to hit. He’ll be a good player on pure athletic ability. I just don’t know if he’ll reach his ceiling.” Francouer, who added 17 pounds of bulk in the offseason, has a .307 on-base percentage and just three home runs in 175 at-bats …

Sounds familiar, Ken.

Just wait for the Francoeur Posse to jump on you that he's just 24 years old and can still make adjustments (despite the fact he has yet to do it) and that he has a good smile.

Looks like 18,000-20,000 fans will show up for today's game...not to shabby for an unscheduled game! I expect tonight to be around 30,000-35,000 which would put the day total over 50,000.

That was a pretty bonehead move by Blanco, imo. If he gets caught, Tommy leads off. There was just not much to gain by stealing second there.

Yeh, I'm never a big advocate for stealing, especially in those types of situations. The only time I like it there is if he just catches the pitcher napping.

Castillo homered in the first for the Mets.

Teixeira singled home Kotsay in the first for the Braves.

Mets had the bases loaded with one out in the first after the homer and failed to score any more runs.

I'm not claiming his 'fast'. I'm just saying that what speed he does have didn't disappear today. He doesn't get thrown out every time he runs the base paths, therefore, his decision making, not his speed should be to blame for his basepath outs today...which was all I was saying.

That's the thing though, the first could be contributed to bad decision making, but I'm fine with the steal attempt there. In a tie game and Kotsay who has been a double play machine this year, I can't say I didn't agree with that call. Actually, I said I'd be fine with it before he even went.
