Braves-Nation.com MLB Poll - 5.19.08


The following poll was developed through a panel of 11 Braves-Nation.com members. The points were derived from the following very scientific system. Each first place team on each poll submitted received 30 points, the second place team received 29 points, etc. all the way down to the last place team on each poll receiving one point.

After all polls were submitted, the total points were tallied and the teams were ranked in descending order. In the event of a tie, we used the team's winning percentage as the tie-breaker.

The numbers you see below correspond with the amount of points each team received, not the order in which they were ranked.

In this week's poll, the Arizona Diamondbacks re-captured the top spot after having the Boston Red Sox experience a one week stay at the top. The Chicago Cubs also moved in front of the Red Sox this week. The biggest movers from last week's poll were: Cincinnati Reds (+7), New York Yankees (-7), Milwaukee Brewers (-5). Yea and on that note I was looking at division vs. division in the NL, because I was trying to figure out why basically all of the east is playing .500 ball. What I figured out was that the west is really bad, except for the dbacks. (this MAY also help explain the dbacks good record, a little) The west as a whole has a losing record against the central and the east. The central and east were about even against each other. However, the central only has three teams over .500 while the east has four.
