ha ha ha ha.
like i just told McCarroll...i'd rather he went back to being a defensive liability with the ability to hit.

I wish they could have just left Chuck in the whole game and let him give up 20 runs before they (hopefully) send him back to the minors. Sucks we had to waste bullpen arms on an almost certain loss.
Chuck looks so sad when he pitches. :(

I guess we should swap James and Morton and go from there. Maybe Bennett can be given a shot after Morton if necessary and after we get a couple bullpen arms back.

I noticed that too. Maybe he has his laptop in the dugout and follows our gamethreads between innings ...:(

Like i said...with the Rangers...From Rotoworld:
Mar.24
Rangers signed John Patterson to a minor league contract.
Patterson will serve mostly as an insurance policy, starting the season at Triple-A Oklahoma. He has a relationship with Texas pitching coach Mark Connor from their days together in Arizona, and said that was a big reason he signed with the Rangers. "He understands what I need," Patterson said. He'll start a long-toss program on Tuesday, and the Rangers expect him to be ready to pitch in the minors in late April or early May.
And the Latest news from him:
May 7
John Patterson experienced a setback while pitching in extended spring training and has been shut down because of continued forearm soreness.

I guess we should swap James and Morton and go from there. Maybe Bennett can be given a shot after Morton if necessary and after we get a couple bullpen arms back.
Right now, I'd just call up an extra bullpen arm, sending Chuck out, and use Bennett for one of the games in the double header, which would be the next time Chuck's spot in the rotation came up.
Then we'd have that extra guy in the pen for those two games and it wouldn't be throwing Morton or any other pitcher to the role of eating innings to save the bullpen for the next one. Glavine's a professional, he can do that if he needs to. Same for Bennett, he can give us as much as he can.
After that, I'd look at making a long-term switch, using either Morton or Bueno. I see Bennett a lot like I saw Oscar a few years ago and Buddy last year and just think, don't push it to the limit that it may not be able to go and keep it at what's working. Bennett can do a lot of things, but if we're going to rely on him as a long-term fixture in the rotation, chances are he'll hit that wall the same way Buddy did a year ago.

Why do you want Maddux?
He should be able to go further into games than Glavine and James have, and probably wouldn't require a return that guys like Blanton would command.

Yeah, it's a bit easier to watch a dot go off the screen than watch Howard tee off on a belt high 88 MPH fastball and hit it 440 to straight center.

And you don't have to hear the excruciating sounds of Philly fans cheering. Ugh.
