Jurrjens has established himself as one of the game's top rookies by pitching deep into games (averaging 6 1/3 innings per start) and showing remarkable poise for someone with just 14 career starts. He is 3-0 in his past four starts, sporting a 2.08 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 26 innings. The Braves are 4-3 in games started by Jurrjens this season.

While allowing one run and seven hits in six innings against the Padres on Tuesday, Jurrjens arguably had his least impressive outing in three weeks. In his four previous outings, he had limited opponents to a .124 batting average. The 22-year-old right-hander has been one of the game's top rookies. But now that there are more enhanced scouting reports of him, he'll have to show his ability to make quick adjustments.</td></tr><tr><td class="thead" align="center"><strong>Zach Duke, PIT</strong></td></tr><tr><td class="smallfont" bgcolor="#e3e3e3">After back-to-back quality starts, Duke seems to be rounding into form. He has thrown at least six innings in five of his seven starts this season, as the lefty is keeping his sinker down in the zone. Against the Braves on April 3, Duke allowed two runs on 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings and got a no-decision. He has allowed at least eight hits in six of his seven starts this season.

Duke will take the mound after making back-to-back quality starts that appear to have a left-hander on some sort of early-season roll. He has now finished at least seven innings in half of his starts this season, and his sinker has been consistently down in the zone again, something that wasn't so much the case a year ago. Duke will get his second chance of the season against Atlanta on Sunday. He pitched 5 2/3 innings against the Braves in his first start of the season and allowed two earned runs on 10 hits.</td></tr></tbody></table><table class="tborder" border="0" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="1" width="500"><tbody><tr><td class="tcat" colspan="4" align="center"><strong>AccuScore Game Forecast</strong></td></tr><tr><td class="smallfont" align="center" bgcolor="#e3e3e3"><script language="Javascript" type="text/javascript"><!-- var f0=new flashObj(); f0.flashFile="http://assets.espn.go.com/swf/mlb/accuscore_mlb.swf"; f0.flashVars="&XMLURL=http://espn.go.com/mlb/accuscore/280511123.xml"; f0.ID = "as_280511123"; f0.width = "480"; f0.height = "320"; f0.DenyIEdl = "TRUE"; f0.FlashVer = 7; f0.cabVersion = "7,0,0,0"; f0.altTxt = "Flash Player Required"; f0.render(true); // --></script><embed src="http://assets.espn.go.com/swf/mlb/accuscore_mlb.swf" swliveconnect="FALSE" quality="best" scale="exactfit" flashvars="&XMLURL=http://espn.go.com/mlb/accuscore/280511123.xml" wmode="opaque" id="as_280511123" name="flash3" menu="false" devicefont="false" salign="lt" allowscriptaccess="Always" allownetworking="All" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" height="320" width="480"></td></tr></tbody></table>

Lineups are obviously purely a guess this early. I wanted to get the gamethread up in case Mother's Day takes me away around that time. Anyone who has the ability, just edit it if you see the lineups before I do.

----

Let's win with the pink bats today! We need to get these two wins with JJ and Huddy pitching and go to Philly winning 8 of the last 10.

So Zach Duke is in the bathroom now, trying to collect himself, shaking with fear, knowing he is about to be pounded by Chipper, Tex, and the rest of the Braves, and jealous of St. Jair the Phenom.

Poor Zach.

I don't think so, Bobby likes to get guys plenty of at bats when they join the team so they can be ready to be a better pinch hitter later on.

Yeah...I'm not sure if I'm down. We'll see...

I'm curious to see what happens when Prado comes back.

Who get's bumped because I don't see Norton going anywhere, or Infante, so is Gotay the odd man out? I guess Pena is likely out of a job as well.

Prado to Richmond. Pena's done. The disabled list is actually just a two week period they're using to trade him.

Gotay, Infante, Norton, Diaz/Blanco, Miller will be our bench.

Prado was raking though...

.282/.383/.462

And has more ABs than Gotay has. So I assumed he was higher on the pecking order.

Then again the R-Braves appear to be early front runners in the International League so Martin could help them win the title.:D

Gotay doesn't have any options left, Prado does. Gotay has been used in pinch hitting opportunities whereas Prado has more at-bats in starts.

Whether we bring Prado back and waive Gotay, or just send Prado to Richmond, it's actually a good problem.

Add to that that we've still got Brandon Jones, Brent Lillibridge, Josh Anderson, Joe Borchard, and Scott Thorman at Richmond and we've got some pretty decent depth.

Grant three out of those five guys need to start hitting:rolleyes:

It's really ridiculous how everyone thinks that too. 22-4 K/BB ratio and a .84 WHIP

Blaine with the most holds on the team? Couldn't be... Everyone thinks Blaine sucks.

with the exception of a couple very noticeable bad outings where he gave up homers Blaine's been great. If he could have two pitches back we'd love him.

22 K's in 21 1/3. Only 4 Walks

And a 0.84 WHIP

Blaine's got great stuff and he throws strikes, personally I think by the end of the year everybody will like him.
