just got this off of another board...

From DOB at the AJC. Sigh.
LOTS OF MORNING NEWS:
CHIPPER scratched after having mid-back spasms while suiting up. Literally, he was dressing at his locker when his back flared….
so it was good that LILLIBRIDGE was already here and in the lineup. They called him up late last night, and he was already going to be in the lineup at SS. After Chipper got scratched, Prado inserted at 3B.
If Lillibridge hadn’t been here, they’d have had no one to play one of the two left-side infield positions.
STOCKMAN is being sent back down to make room for Lillibridge, who started the year in worst slump of his career but has hit about .275 in the past week, including a 3-hit game last night.
YUNEL showed me his swollen finger. Nail’s still on it now, but might fall off eventually. He said he’ll play Tuesday.

That's pretty good news on Yunel, but not good for Chipper. Maybe Kotsay can give him some advice to get him back on the field.

LILLIBRIDGE!

Sucks hard about Chipper though... Maybe he'll make a Kelly Johnson-like pinch hit appearance.

Odd to see Kelly slide down to third in the order.

Too bad I won't get to see it, I'll be listening on XM and hoping for the best.

It's going to suck real bad if this back thing is anything serious. Back problems are usually lingering and don't go away.

They haven't said yet... they sent down stockman and called up Lilibridge, that's all I know.

A back can flare up when just bending over.

Back spasms aren't necessarily back problems. I wouldn't worry too much about it right now but it may take a couple of days.

Gonzo! Pitched two innings yesterday at extended spring. Two innings, 12 pitches, 12 strikes.

from a mets fan on the braves.com board:

as far as today and tomorrow, it really doesnt matter if its true or not....like my fellow mets fan said, your chances of winning today (and sunday for that matter) dropped from 100% to 97%.....the mets are GARBAGE right now; and even when we're playing well hudson and smoltz kill us.

Do they have anyone in the park? It sounds like the game is being recorded in a closed booth.

Also, what are they thinking? Stockman gets called up and then sent down the next day without even making an appearance. Who's bright idea was that?:mad:They called him up to have an extra pitcher until Glavine came up...then Escobar injured his finger and was going to be out for the weekend. Thus they needed a backup infielder in case Prado got hurt. Turned out it was an expert move because Chipper was a scratch...if they hadn't called up Lillibridge they would have been playing Gotay or Pena at 3rd!
