Well if Campillo can get us back to the dugout with just down 1 run I'll take our chances in the 9th, as long as go down swinging I'' be happy, we really played bad today, Huddy was ugh-ly....

I'm saying Lillibridge does something. Prado may get on, but I'm thinking Lillibridge comes through against the lefty.

04-26-2008, 04:58 PM
Considering we don't have Chipper OR Esco in the lineup today AND huddy having a bad outing I'm still happy with where we're at right now.
Anyone else think we'll see chipper in the 9th? I think if we get prado on he'll take lilli's spot.

josephw000
04-26-2008, 05:08 PM
So the muts were just able to beat a battered Braves squad? No Esco no C Jones....We didint deserve this one anyways, we played poor. Gotta get em tomorrow. But I doubt Chipper and Esco are back even tomorrow.....and Lilli has gotta figure out how to hit a baseball in the next 12 hours....
McCarroll21
04-26-2008, 05:08 PM
Maybe with a night of sleep Lillibridge will come off and make up for his debut. Sucks that his poor debut had to come in the same game that Chipper had to miss and Huddy was ineffective.
Chop33
04-26-2008, 05:09 PM
not the best debut for Lilli :(
nittanylionfan3
04-26-2008, 05:10 PM
Haha, yeah. Bad debut, but he's got tomorrow.
McCarroll21
04-26-2008, 05:10 PM
Lilli has gotta figure out how to hit a baseball in the next 12 hours....He'll get some sleep. That may help. Plus, he won't be as nervous or whatever jitters a player has to have on his debut.
You have to remember that he played last night at Richmond, was told after the game he was coming up and went from Norfolk to New York during the night.
DRbravesfan29
04-26-2008, 05:11 PM
Huddy didnt have his A game..:(...i hope he brings it for his next start.

Yep, first day jitters. Hopefully he bounces back tomorrow.

DRbravesfan29
04-26-2008, 05:31 PM
IF chipper plays tomorrow...put prado in SS..nuff said...:D
McCarroll21
04-26-2008, 05:46 PM
Lillibridge was already starting at shortstop today when Chipper was expected to play. Enough said?
GrandMasterB
04-26-2008, 05:49 PM
Remember how Kelly Johnson started out 1-for-30 when he first came up? He seems to have turned out alright. Gotta give Lillibridge more than one game before deciding he can't do anything.
vnodnarb
04-26-2008, 05:57 PM
0-8 in 1 run games....ouch.
nittanylionfan3
04-26-2008, 06:17 PM
Yeah, thats the most worrying stat for me. We've lost 13 straight dating back to last season as well.
McCarroll21
04-26-2008, 06:20 PM
One run games don't bother me so much. The reason is that a lot of them are the result of our offense making a 2 or 3 run deficit a 1 run deficit.
Like today, we were down 2 runs but the offense got one of them back. Why would the fact we got the game back within a run make anyone less worried than if we wouldn't have scored anymore and lost 4-2.
One run games that concern me are games that say at 1 run all the way through or are tied and the bullpen coughs up the game by giving up a run. Turning a two run loss into a one run loss doesn't bother me at all.

Yeah. Good point. I was kind of thinking the same thing. I was happy to see that it wasn't from a blown lead or anything. Blown leads are bad, coming back, but not making it the whole way is okay
josephw000
04-26-2008, 07:47 PM
I like giving Lilli another shot tomorrow if Chipper is in there. He looks like he's 14, but let him get some shut eye and have at it one more night. See what happens. Patience is a virtue.

Back spasms are as day-to-day as you can get. He could wake up fine in the morning or his back could stay knotted up for a few weeks. You never know...

Been dealing with back issues myself - doc gave me a interesting piece of info the other day.
90% of back pain goes away within 3 weeks
5% goes away within 3 months
5% has continued back pain past 3 months, those are the hard ones to diagnose.
I happen to fall into the last 5% - here's hoping that chipper is in the first 90% :D

Mark Redman is getting absolutely destroyed by the Dodgers. 10 run inning including a grand slam. Even Andruw has an RBI (walked with the bases loaded.)
McCarroll21
04-26-2008, 11:59 PM
It's because they gave him a lead too early. You have to keep it 0-0 for Redman and he'll pitch decent. You give him a lead and he's destined to give up and then some.

No, I think it's because he's not very good at baseball.

Moylan is probably out for the year, Soriano is having arm problems, Infante is hurt, Yunel is hurt, Hampton is Hampton, Glavine has been hurt, Kotsay's back has been hurting a little, Chipper is hurting, Smoltz shoulder isn't %100 percent, Hudson's velocity hasn't been the same, KJ's knee has been hurt, and frenchy's ankle is hurting him.
Kinda scary when you think about how many injuries we have already had.

Yeah..it wasnt his back....it was his left trapezius muscle....weird thing is the same one as Smoltz...its behind the neck and goes down with the shoulder...anyone could say the muscle is located in the back...... but its really a more shoulder/neck thing.
