How many years do we have to sit and suffer as college football fans with the BCS? The NCAA needs to be sent a message! Institute a playoff system NOW!!! This bowl game system is retarded and needs to stop. Championships are won on the field and not in a computer.

It will be a few years at least. NCAA has a contract with the BCS that has a few more years on it.

That's something I've never understood. Could someone explain me very simply how that NCAA BCS stuff works ? I've read tons of link but this is always a mess to understand.

If you don't understand it, you're with the rest of us.
Basically what I know is that the BCS is some computer formula that takes a lot of computer polls, the coaches poll and the Harris Interactive poll to determine who the "best" teams are.
But you're right in your assessment in it being a mess to understand.

I've given up on college football untill they start making sense and institute a playoff system. I watch the NFL now.

just keep in mind with a 4 team playoff, their is still going to be a mess to determine those 4 and the #5,6,7 teams will have their gripes

Yupp! No matter what they do there will always be controversy. Either the 5th, 9th, or 17th team will have a gripe -- and in some years those numbers can be expaned from 5-8, 9-12 and so on.

There is no way around this selection process. The only way would be to dictate that only four conferences matter and that would pretty much destroy college football even more.
I think this system works fine. There are over one-hundred teams in the NCAA so there will almost always be some kind of controversy.
